Giovanni stood in the indicated place in front of the students, and breathed in deeply. He wasn't nervous, but there was an odd adrenaline rush flowing through his veins that needed calming. Thankfully the cool wind helped calm him, and helped cool the area down. It was hot enough that he had decided to wear a different, more comfortable suit (The R's been replaced with the school emblem), and he was thankful the tree overhead was large enough to shade them all. He had a few samples prepared (and numbered and labeled, in case anyone got greedy. Thankfully these weren't very valuable rocks, but even so...), and figured it would be a nice way to introduce the kids in a hands-on fashion ( ... )

What exactly qualifies you as a teacher?

Giovanni bit back a slight scowl. Was the boy starting already? Very well then. He would defend himself while showing the boy his place. "I actually graduated at the top of my class at one of the premier Italian universities, and earned my PhD in it a few years back. I have been checked out by The Headmaster as well. He would say that qualifies me quite well, as would I."

"You had free time between your family and your job to do that? I think you are lying ...again"

"I was a business man, so it was difficult, but that's what weekend classes are for. Go early enough in the morning and you can get quite a bit accomplished. And you were there when I said I got it, Vulpo. Now you're being silly and argumentative." He kept his voice level, with a small smile. Inside, though, he was getting annoyed.

Knuckles turned the stones over in his hands and nodded. All nice specimens and identifiable to him. He remained quiet, preferring to listen than to ask questions just yet. There was a lot he'd like to know, but no specific thing jumped out at him.

Mac was looking at all the rocks in wonderment. You don't see many of these in New York City. At least, not ones as interesting as this. Since this was the first class, he didn't know what to ask first!

Thad gazed at the red stone, it was very intriguing to him. So strange and different what he usual categorize as rocks. He might look it up on a book after class, it seems that will satisfy most of his question for now.

And so, he raised his hand. "What is the red one?"

"The red one? That is a form of Jasper. It's a semi-precious gemstone that comes in a few other colors as well. It's been used since ancient times for personal seals, ornamentation, and bow drills, though today it is primarily used in jewelry." Giovanni explained. It was nice to have a question that wasn't aimed at him like, say, Silver's.

Brendan stayed quiet until the teacher offered time for Q&A. He raised his hand before asking his question.

"I've heard that there are some kind of rocks that have properties that changes the behaviors of certain animals. Is this true?"

He was thinking in terms of Pokémon, but you never know what kind of other things that might happen to other kinds of animals!

"Wow...."

Ashton gazed at the rocks in wonder, holding them and childishly feeling them before nonchalantly putting them back down.

Seeing a Nidoking to Giovanni's side, she squinted. His name sounded familiar, but who was she to guess when this was all the way out in Final Destination city. "Mr... Uh, Moretti? Are you from Kanto by any chance?" The pikachu continued to watch Sergio.

Oh, so many alarm bells started going off in his head.

He managed to hide his surprise, and smile instead, "Yes, Ms. Ashton, I was born and raised there, actually. Are you from near there?"

"Yeah, I was born and raised in the Viridian Forest," said Ashton. "I remember seeing Pokemon like that Nidoking over there through Pokemon battles. It's from a Nidoran, right? Those can be found outside the Viridian Forest."

"Born and raised in Viridan, myself." Giovanni replied, "Nidoran are definitely found in the area; Sergio was my first Pokemon, caught in the area by my father. I have a Nidoqueen from the same area as well."

"Wow..." She smirked, impressed. "I wasn't Tom's first Pokemon, but it feels like we've been together for so long. At first I missed my dad, but I got to see so many different places!"

"They didn't really give out starters when I started my journey, but that was also 28 years ago." He switched to leaning on Sergio, "I'll be the first to admit, it is hard leaving family on a journey, but it does help us grow." Unless you're being a coward... he thought, sighing.
