Who: Morty and Myths class
What: GHOST STORIES. I mean. Urban Legends that are totally pertinent to his class.
Where: A classroom
When: Friday, some time in the afternoon
When you walk in, Morty’s standing beside the door with his arms crossed over his chest and a pleasant smile on his face, as usual. His students should probably notice that whatever windows in the classroom have been blocked out with black tarp or construction paper; no light is seeping through.
He waits for all of his students to pile into the classroom and take their seats before brushing off the wall and flicking off the lights. And then he closes the door so the classroom really is entirely dark. There’s a soft murmur in the background, like someone is moving through walls. Morty’s Gengar are definitely in the room, but they’ve been told to behave. Mostly. Who knows if they’ll actually listen; for as much as he spoils them, they're still ghosts to be reckoned with.
“I believe when I first got here, I mentioned wanting to tell ghost stories on Halloween to start the class. But summers’ end has passed (and I’ve learned of the unfortunate events) so I figured ... today’s as good as any day, hmm?
Welcome to Myths, Legends, and the Paranormal.”
Morty moves over to his desk and flips open a couple books. He won’t be using books often, but eh. There certainly are a lot of them on his desk and scattered around, along with scrolls that he brought from Ecruteak. Text is good, but stories are always better heard by word of mouth. Or so he believes. The book that Morty’s flipping through is actually a dictionary. Oddly enough.
“First off,” he’s addressing the class still, mellow. “I have a couple questions.
What is the difference between a myth and a legend? What’s the similarity? And finally, define paranormal for me. I’m interested to hear what you guys think it means.”
