Fashion design - Putting clothes together!
Who: Adder, class, any faculty lurkers
What: (backdated) Fashion design. Discuss winter fashion and a little lecture about how designers must always BE AHEAD OF TIME. And then a COMPLETELY UNRELATED GROUP ACTIVITY. Because Group Activities are always fun.

[Adder walks into the classroom, holding various winter-y clothings that were supposed to go into go into stores this year. He sets them up on the modeling dolls for the students to see. There are also as much modelling dolls.]
Good afternoon, class. Before we talk about our seasonal clothings of upcoming winter fashion, I'd like to talk a little about timeliness.
As a fashion designer, you always have to plan yourself ahead. Start your designing early enough so any issues won't delay your production. The showcase days are set from the start. So while there's the winter fashion going on, you'd already have the designs for spring done and picking out which designs to actually use for the spring.
Now for the Winter fashion. Typical outfit would be a thick coat, gloves, hat, scarf. Handmade knits for adorable children would work nicely. Fur coats would work for wet places, but I personally dislike the itch. Turtlenecks are common to wear for shirts. For feet, boots become more popular.
Thicker fabrics are used for this season. No one would want to buy shirts that are thin and flimsy in this weather. Not too thick, otherwise they wouldn't wear it inside either.
Of course just making the clothes won't do, you'd have to do a perfect combination for the outfit to look right. This is the most important part.

Since you are all still incompetent to sew a decent shirt, we'll just start off with combining various clothings to make an entire outfit. I have a large closet full of clothes and a box full of accessories. You'll get into groups of 3, and discuss amongst yourselves of what would be a perfect outfit. At the end of class, the other groups will critique on your group's. The group with the best outfit will get an A for the day.
((Uhm. Just find a google image of a fullbody outfit or something and link it. There will be a thread later for each group's critique time, after the groups are formed so the final decision can be posted there for convenience, probably by thursday night at the latest. I will try to make the threads organized as possible...TRY being the keyword. If there's any confusion just shoot me an IM or something at Winged Kuro Neko :|;;;;;;;;))
