After their encounter with Daroach, Goose realized that, although his first plan failed, there were many more that he could craft. He wanted to see his boyfriend out more and interacting with people, so he found this to be a convenient way to do it. Surge, aren't you lucky to have a boyfriend who's a giant social butterfly? You should feel lucky.
He kept Hettie next to him as he reclined on the couch. He'd need to keep her calm for when Vashta and Rhys arrived, for she'd likely go nuts and fly all around them upon their entries.
