Characters: Louie, Rosalina What: Rosalina meets up with Louie in the dorm complex kitchen, and they make stuff with star bits! Where: The dorm complex's kitchen~ When: July 14th Rating: G, probably.
Rosalina was walking down the hallway towards the dorm kitchen with Lumina following behind. She was getting hungry and wanted to grab a bite to eat instead of buying food from the grocery store.
Ever since the picnic, she was able to eat various dishes more often, but only if it's loaded with Star Bits. Because of that, she decided to carry a purse filled with Luma chow everywhere she goes. It's quite convenient, especially for Lumina, who loves Star Bits to death. Of course it would if it'll save you the trouble of going to space just to get a simple snack.
Eventually the two made it to the kitchen and went inside, only to see Louie complementing about something. She figured it has something do to with cooking, since they are in a kitchen. Not wanting to startle the teacher with her voice, Rosalina place a hand on his shoulder to grab his attention.
Louie did, however, bounce a little at the hand on his shoulder and flipped around to see who it belonged to. His tension lessened considerably at the sight of Rosalina and Lumina, however, for he knew them a little at least. It wasn't exactly as hard to talk to people who he knew at least a bit, so that was a good thing.
"H-Hello," He peeped out, unable to hold a tiny stutter. That did startle him a little.
He looked over at Lumina, then Rosalina, then Lumina again. He then turned his head around and looked over at the remainder of the two plates of dessert on the counter. "I... was cooking. I'm trying to top these." He needed some kind of topping, but hrrgh... what?!
Touching his shoulder didn't seem like a good idea, since Louie ended up jumping from her tough. Perhaps it was best to call out his name instead. She made a mental note to do so in case the two ever cross paths again.
"It's good to see you again, Louie." Rosalina replied calmly as Lumina headed over to the counter to take a look at his creations. The Luma simply squeaked in disgust at the desserts; how could anyone in their right mind eat that stuff? It isn't Star Bits!
The Luma will never know.
Rosalina noticed the desserts as well. The presentation looks very nice and probably tastes good as well. Of course it needed Star Bits if she plans on tasting it. Speaking of Star Bits, didn't Louie said that he needed some topping? Well, she has a good idea on what to use.
"Would you like to use Star Bits?" She asked as she showed Louie the purse being carried. "I carry them with me all the time, so I can eat otherworldly food in my own leisure."
Star Bits?! Oh! Louie remembered those! He tried those out at the picnic Rosalina was holding. The one he found his way to whilst searching for juicy, buggy morsels? Yeah, that one. They did taste very good, as well, and he didn't wind up getting any to experiment with, so why not?
"I... would like that," He nodded and pointed down to the bite or two of pineapple cake and the bit of cheesecake left. "Can you sprinkle some... on those?"
With that said, she opened her purse and took out a handful of Star Bits. She then went over to the pineapple and cheesecakes and sprinkled the colorful Bits on them.
Immediately, Lumina rushed to her mother and began gobbling up what's left on her hand. Rosalina chuckled. Lumas can surely be gluttons sometimes.
Louie couldn't resist a tiny smile when the little Luma licked and nibbled on the goodies left on Rosalina's hand. Maybe Lumas tasted like citrus-y star bits He quickly went over for his cakes, though, and tried a bite of the cheesecake, then the pineapple.
... It was perfect. The pineapple was missing something with a crunch and extra sweetness, whereas the cheesecake needed a flavor to add in there for a punch. He loved how the star bits melded with each of the two flavors and made for a very tantalizing topping.
"These... these are amazing," Louie uttered, drool dribbling down his chin.
"... Can I use more for the recipes I am going to make next?"
Rosalina smiled. She's grateful for the fact that Star Bits are compatible with otherworldly foods. If the look on Louie's face is any indication, the cakes are very pleasing to onr'd taste buds. She will have to try some herself, but for now she will tend to his request.
"Yes, you may. I have plenty for us to share." Fortunately, there's an empty plate nearby, so Rosalina poured a good amount on the surface. Lumina quickly sped towards her favorite food, only to be stopped by her mother. The Luma squealed loudly as she struggled to free herself from Rosalina's grasp, but stopped when she was given Star Bits from the bag. Within seconds, the star stopped crying as she gobbled up more of the favorite food like a vacuum.
"I apologize for my child's behavior." Rosalina said to Louie. "Star Bits are quite a delicacy to her kind."
Louie actually wound up letting a small chuckle escape from his lips when Lumina positively scarfed down plenty more of those star bits. It sure did seem like she loved that stuff! It reminded him of his own reaction to bugs in general.
"It's alright," He softly spoke, beginning to get out ingredients for a simple banana split. It was a wonder how he'd never done this before. He seemed to focus on the tougher recipes all of the time now, he supposed, so he never worked on easy stuff like that to throw together.
"Do you... like ice cream?" He peeped curiously, bringing out a french vanilla-flavored ice cream.
Rosalina had no choice but to give Louie a puzzled expression. What in the world is ice cream? Could it be what he's currently holding right now?
"I... never tasted ice cream before... or heard of it." she finally replied. When it comes to food that isn't Star Bits, she's way behind in the times.
Louie merely stepped up and began scooping up the ice cream into a bowl. He decided he'd let her try some first before he added the rest of the ingredients onto it.
"Ice cream... is a frozen cream treat," He spoke, taking out a spoon from one of the drawers. He swiped up a tiny mound of the ice cream onto the spoon and handed the utensil to her, as if saying he'd let her try a bite.
"I see..." She replied as she took the spoon from Louie's hand. She isn't sure if the cooking teacher wants her to try it out as it is without Star Bits, but maybe he does. It doesn't seem like a good idea to her, but the one thing she doesn't want to do often is disappoint others. So she might as well taste it.
Rosalina put the spoon in her mouth, tasting the creamy dessert that's starting to melt on her tongue. She quickly swallowed it, only to leave a small look of disgust on her face.
This is something she'll have a hard time getting used to.
Louie only stared at her expression for a minute after she had tried a bite. She... certainly didn't seem to like it very much at all. It definitely didn't surprise him, though, he had to admit. He's seen people dislike even the most likable foods.
"... You don't like it?" He wanted a confirmation anyway. Besides, he still had another dessert to make after this, and perhaps she'd like it more with the Star Bits topping it.
"Oh," Louie softly uttered, not realizing that Rosalina thought this food was 'otherworldly'. So she didn't even come from this planet?
"I... I am not from Earth, either," He admitted to her. Even though he looked as average as any human being in his human form (like he bore right now), he was still considered an alien amongst the Earth dwellers. That's how it rolls when you're a Hocotatian and all.
By now, he had all the ingredients (some chocolate and caramel syrups, a banana, whipped cream, and a cherry) topping off the delicious frozen treat. He then reached for the Star Bits and sprinkled some on. He took a bite straight afterwards, and needless to say, his mouth completely watered.
Rosalina tilted her head to the side. That she didn't notice at all. Then again, just cause one looks like a human doesn't mean you are from Earth. Rosalina looked like a human as well, but she's from the Mushroom World ruled by Princess Peach. As anyone should know, looks doesn't always tell everything about a person, hence the saying 'can't judge a book by it's cover'. In this particular case, the saying applies here

"...It's not to my liking." She replied, feeling apologetic. Who would want to hear how bad one's food is?
"I apologize. I'm not used to otherworldly foods. However, with Star Bits, I can handle it a little more."
