There are ticket vendors, but Smash Academy students get to ride for free! Another small thanks for saving everyone during the Aparoid War, so please enjoy, and come back as often as you like.
Everything else has to come out of your own pocket, however - food, dexterity games to win plush toys, balloons, or the arcade. But hey, free rides is nothing to scoff at!

He left the rockets at one of the tables he borrowed for the day to set up birthday party stuff ((that'll be in a night-time!party thread)), and decided to just enjoy the carnival himself until nighttime rolled around. So many things to do! Besides, being a Holidaian, he had a special place in his heart for carnivals.

It was somewhere around 2pm when he showed up, having opted to take the nice normal bus route. It wasn't like he even had to wait for the bus, as every time Mother kids check the bus schedule the bus happens to pull up two seconds later. Maybe he should have waited until later in the evening; the sun was pretty high in the sky and it was really hot. At least to him. He'd have to get some ice cream or ride something with a good breeze before anything else.

"No one asked you." the man growled before his eyes met Sonic's.
"Of course not," he replied with a smile. "but he apologized and he's new here. Surely you can't hold too much of a grudge, buddy? Besides..." he idly rubbed his hand on his chest, "not everyone at Smash Academy has been to a carnival before."
At the mention of the school, the employee's glare softened.
"Oh," he began his voice cringing. "You're one of them."
"Sure is! Just like me." He held up his school idea like a cop would flash his badge.
"See my badge?" "See? Sonic the Hedgehog! Smash Academy Sophomore Student!"
"Uh...." he groaned, not wanting to have more of this. He looked at Pit. "Just...just make sure you don't do that again."

"I won't! I know better now!" he replied chipperly, a finger pointing in the air. He sidled away and joined Sonic on the other side of the fence.
He didn't know what to say, except, "Hey, uh... thanks back there. I sure was in a big mess!"

His gaze wandered from the speedy blue hedgehog to the vast array of carnival activities splayed about the horizon. There was a lot to do- almost too much to do, actually. "Say! You want to try one of the rides with me? I've never been on one... or we could play a game! Or maybe eat some food! It sure smells good around here, doesn't it!" Oh the poor thing- he couldn't make up his mind. "I mean, everything looks fun and stuff, but... it would probably be more fun if somebody did it with me."

He grinned when the other student mentioned food. Something smells good huh?
"Well! Usually they say it's better to ride before you eat, in case you get too sick from the rides." he explained. "However, we could probably get a little something before we start...ever have a chilidog before?"

he mentioned. "Let's go find some!"

They arrived mere seconds later to a very small booth, where a man was busy serving a few hungry kids. He turned and gave Sonic a small wave. At this rate it was like every chilidog vendor in the world KNEW who he was.
That was probably not too far from the truth.
"Hey!" he replied back, as the man gave him two hotdogs. He spun one and give it to Pit. "Freshly made too, the best way to enjoy them before the sauce makes the bun all soggy."

Ahh! Hot! He probably should have waited until it cooled down a little. But it wasn't so bad. In fact, it tasted alright. The flavor certainly stirred his taste buds awake. "Pretty good!" he murmured with his mouth still full. "Ah, let's go walk around and look at stuff while we eat!" He pulled onto his arm coaxingly.

Hopefully not the Tilt-a-Wirl.

Well, there certainly was a lot to pick from. They all seemed to move in hypnotic rhythms or twisty lines. Pit wasn't sure if it were the chili dog or his nerves, but his stomach sunk a few inches as he watched people fly all over the place without any kind of control whatsoever.
There were appealing rides, but which one would be a good first go? There was the Scrambler he made a fool of himself at... his fiasco seemed long forgotten over there. There was a giant wheel with passenger cars circling all around- it was noticeable because of its incredible size. A huge tower decorated with long, dangling swings stood proud- it didn't look half bad. They passed a ride that called itself the Ring of Fire and looped all around. This must take the riders upside-down. Then there were roller coasters.
Hey! That might not be such a bad idea. It didn't look too scary, and as a matter of fact, it looked fun! "Should we go on that roller coaster?" He pointed in that direction. The ride was still in ( ... )

...looking at how utterly unimpressive all the carnival games and attractions were. She stuffed her hands in her pockets and picked a direction to wander in. It wasn't quite sunset yet and she wasn't hungry yet either.
Maybe she'd run into something or someone of interest along the way.
