Once Samus heard Olimar had come back safely she made it a point to say hello and catch up. She was also itching to get her mind off the usual things she ended up brooding about, and this was the perfect chance. She missed him.

And it was hard for the bounty hunter to not miss him; she caught a glimpse of him passing through the courtyard and approached. "Hey."

Olimar nodded, he expected to meet up with her at some point today.

"Hi!"

She resisted the urge to ruffle his hair even though he was much taller as a human.

It was a general question but she couldn't help ask it anyway, "Did you have an uneventful trip back?"

(Not much taller than you Sammy, is that sad?)

"Nothing too special. Falcon arrived pretty early." He sure liked to drive fast but it was nothing too dangerous or else they would have had problems. "Though Petunia asked me to take her home though and I did... I hope she's going to be alright..."

Her smile faded a little. "She went home...?" It was a little unexpected but then again the war was incredibly trying and difficult for everyone. Samus supposed someone like Petunia had to deal with it in her own way, and leaving here was it. "...I do too." She wondered how Snake would take it, he seemed to be a little attached to the Pikmin.

Samus felt the urge to change subject, "Have you heard about the upcoming cruise? Supposedly Tabuu 'slapped Robotnik in the face' with a wad of cash and told him to build a cruise ship for the school. Imagine that..."

He crossed his arms, rather puzzled by the name drop. "Robotnik?" All he could really recall of the strange man was his malevolent ramblings. "Why would Tabuu give him so much money?" The cruise itself did not interest him as more so did the situation.

She shrugged, "To build a cruise ship in celebration of the aparoids being defeated." As much as she didn't like Robotnik, a cruise really sounded appealing. Not to mention the vast majority of everyone she knew seemed eager to go.

She also wanted to go to make sure certain students and other faculty stayed out of trouble. "Would you go? It'll be on April 17th, or so I heard."

"Why would he entrust it to him of all people?" He shifted his standing point, it all sounded really suspicious. Not to mention he had no idea if he had plans around that time.

"I'll have to see, I may have something I have to do that day. Maybe not."

"Maybe not?" She let out a tiny chuckle. "I imagine it would be the whole weekend anyway. It would be strange for a cruise to last just one day... even for one from here."

At this point the little gears in her head started turning as Samus remembered something. Regarding her own future plans, one of which involved figuring out when Falcon's birthday was. And if anyone knew, it would probably be Olimar. "Why, do you have plans?"

Usually, he would be honest but really, of all things it sounded down right suspicious if he admitted he had prolonged plans for the other captain's birthday.

"I.... well..." That was always a terrible way to start. "I don't think my family wants me gone that long again."

Yes it was a terrible way to start Olimar. "What if they came with you? I'm sure no one would mind."

"I'll be there, and I'm sure Falcon will too. Unless he's doing something for his birthday."

Okay now it just sounded like she was curious about what he was doing, completely ignoring the birthday factor. Which could be bad.

"I wouldn't trust my family to be anywhere near something being run by that lunatic."

Either he was suspicious of something which may or may not have actually had anything to do with Falcon's date of birth, or he was trying to gently steer the subject into something else. She'd need to be just as gentle steering it back if she didn't want to look suspicious herself. "Lunatic..."

She laughed, "You mean Robotnik or Falcon?" If nothing else maybe it'd get a laugh out of her friend.

He chuckled but it was brief, "Falcon's not really all that crazy of a guy but I get the joke." Time to steer away or at least try.

"No, really. I just really do not understand Robotnik. Why is he still here?" The 'good' doctor seemed like nothing but bad news.

"I could ask the same for a lot of faculty and students." She pursed her lips. "But I remember when General Guy was brainwashed he helped out Otacon out." That was probably the closest thing she would get to saying anything nice about Robotnik because otherwise Samus really did not like him either.

It was Samus's turn to change the subject to the other Pikmin. "How are the rest of the girls since you've come back?" Petunia aside...

"Besides Petunia..." He was pretty sure she might get better and want to come back if she just rests her mind. "The others have been well it seems. I made sure to check up on them." Olimar grinned, "Hojita showed me the greenhouse."
