Genius that he was, it shouldn't have taken this long for a certain realization to finally dawn on him. But it made sense, now that he thought about it. Now that he was more familiar with all the subtleties of Lucas' expressions and body language. He poked Lucas in the shoulder, grinning a bit. "Yooou... liked me even all the way back then, didn't you?"

He briefly wondered for a moment if anything might be different if he were more perceptive to that sort of thing. But that train of thought was headed to memories of others who had liked him too... He decided to let the thought go for now.

"Where do we go from here," he echoed, pursing his lips to one side in thought. That was a good question, not only in regards to their relationship but to life itself. Was it back to the normal every-day chaos of SumaBura? Or would things be more peaceful now? How long would that peace last? Only Xatu knew for sure. "I guess... we go wherever life takes us." A copout answer, but it was the only one that was certain.

Oh, right! The reason they'd met out here in the first place! Jeff put one hand over Lucas' and cleared his throat. "But, uh... Y-yeah, with us? I guess... um... Marriage seems like the next... I mean, like I said, not now or anything but if things are still good then..." Jeez, it hadn't been this hard just typing it. His cheeks were probably a nice red by now.

"Sooo... to make it official, um... will you marry me in about five years?"
