When: Oct. 14 - Evening ~ Late Night
What: It's a shindig. No, seriously. Nabs wanted everyone to get together for drinks. (And she's inconspicuously trying to force Byrne into being more sociable.) And by everyone, we do mean everyone of age.

Knuckles was more than ready to kick off the weekend RIGHT. He was here to eat, drink and be merry. Maybe not so much the eat part. The rest? Certainly.
Currently he was chilling on a bar stool, looking out over the crowd, stein of whatever was cheap and on tap in his hand. It was going to be a great evening!

"How you been, pal?"

He drank a little of his beer.
"It was a good day."

"Would I lie? Yes, seriously. My shoulders STILL feel loose!"

Don't leave him hanging, bro.

Then he balled his fist up for a bump. Ring that bell, Jake.

It was a brofist.
The best of brofists.

"Knuckles," she greeted him. "I know you know him already, but I thought maybe you could enthrall Byrne with some tales of your grand heroics. And if you don't have, I'm sure he's got something he can share with you."
A glance over her shoulder, she eyed Byrne and offered a slight shrug. Hey. She didn't care what they talked about. As long as Byrne stopped locking himself up like a tool.

Knuckles knew of Byrnes involvement with Nabooru. He knew Byrne was the stern, drill-happy Martial Arts teacher. Beyond that, he knew nothing. He was still less than accepting of the idea that Nabooru felt she should have to apologize to this guy after, to Knuckles' mind, having done nothing wrong. But there were two sides to every story, so, Knuckles would give the guy a chance.
"Good to see you outside of class, Professor. Oh, I'm Knuckles the Echidna... you've only seen me in my regular, much smaller form." He said, extending a hand.

He gave Nabooru a strange look when she said that Knuckles would have "something to share." Byrne personally had no desire to interact with the kid outside of his class, but he'd have to suffer through it. He had a couple drinks by now, and would hopefully have more later to make this night more bearable.
"Hello," he said. Knuckles as a "human" somewhat resembled his red, furry form, but if Knuckles hadn't clarified, he would have been a little lost.

Then she chose to speak up on Byrne's assets - hopefully to break some of that tension he was making for her. "He doesn't lift weights like you, Knuckles, but his gauntlet is really neat." She looked over to Byrne and lifted her eyebrows. Hopefully that was okay.

He didn't really know how one would use a gauntlet to fight. But. Hey. He sometimes wore shovels strapped to his hands so he wasn't one to talk. He took a long pull of his beer and regarded Byrne again.
"...so. How's academy life treatin' you, Professor? Fitting in well with the other teachers, I trust? Nabooru is a good pal of mine. It's nice to see her makin' new friends n all."
No, he wasn't about to outright deck the guy, Nabooru. Give him SOME credit for tact, even if not much. Frankly, anyone who knew him even remotely well would have understood the undercurrent to his 'Nabooru is a good pal of mine'. The undercurrent being 'don't mess with her.'.

Knuckles, though, also seemed slightly protective of Nabooru. At least, that was the vibe Byrne got. However, that didn't matter either. He could easily knock the boy--furry red thing or measly human--to the floor. Besides, it wasn't as if he did anything bad to Nabooru. Or, if he did, he made up for it... Somewhat.
"Indeed," he responded, taking another sip from his drink. This guy wasn't interesting. "Word of advice: don't help that toad boy during class or he won't be able to reach his full potential."
Oh yes, Byrne had noticed Knuckles take Slippy's heavy backpack away during their martial arts class. DON'T THINK HE DIDN'T NOTICE.
