Whether he had or had not been there, Voile still would have gone. Cyrus and the library were not mutually exclusive. She'd wanted to go simply because she'd wanted to. You couldn't get much simpler than that. But on the other hand, there was bound to be some amusement with whatever Cyrus was trying to discuss in his overly flowery speech.
She wasn't there to antagonise. She was simply there to observe him. Well, no. She was really simply there to do her own studying for her own classes. It'd do no well for her to fall behind, after all. Especially when she was doing well so far.
The problem was that sometimes the material was boring. Like weeds. Weeds were kind of boring.

And "overly flowery" was exactly what he would call his reading material. So many species to clip through, so many things to consider in trimming down the list of what was necessary for the world and what could simply be pulled.
There had to be variety, to avoid vulnerability to illness. He had filled two notebooks already by noon, and had only entirely eliminated thirty-four species as worthless. The rest confused him--surely they could be paired down but how?
Other than that, he was studying the makeup of the necessary plants, refeshing his memory on their survival mechanisms and if they could be adapted to other species.

He hadn't missed her eye. In fact, she was almost certain she could have passed him four times, perhaps without him even noticing her. After all, he was mostly into his books, or so it seemed. She hadn't been surprised in the least, at least up until she realised he was reading about flowers.
Briefly, she thought of the flowers they'd planted together. But only briefly.
Finally, she edged as inconspicuously as possible in his direction until she peered over his shoulder. Well. To the best of her ability (which wasn't much given his overwhelming height compared to hers). Either way, she simply meant to eavesdrop on his delightful book time.
Mei Ling loved books. She loved the feel of the paper against her fingers as she turned the pages and she loved the smell of the glue that was used to bind the books together. Though with the advent of e-readers, it was more convenient for her to carry a fair amount of her books in electronic form.
Except for the times she needed to multiple books at one time to work something out. Then it was straight back to the paper books for her.
So there she was, in the library, pulling book after book after book looking for the right ones. Mei Ling was in a haze as the titles swam past her.
"Theoretical Mechanics of Particles..." she murmured as she pulled books and put them back in the shelves if they weren't the ones she needed. "Computational Physics... Vector Calculus... Analytical Mechanics..."
"Don't bother," came a harsh voice from the end of the row. "That one is rife with errors and a complete lack of respect for those it ought to be educating."
Cyrus grabbed a book from the top shelf, the title in a foreign language. "This...this is what I sought. Those theorems, these formulae...one could build all creation from this.
She tilted her head to look at the book. It was in... German? The title was in German. It looked like it anyway.
"Well, Biology is Chemistry and Chemistry is Physics so all the world is built upon physical reactions. Given the right combinations and the right time, you could build a world. I guess?"
Mei Ling placed her stack of books on the conveniently located cart near her. She picked up one of them and held it up.
But then it almost seemed to dawn on him that she had asked him something. He thumped the other book with the back of his hand. "It contains many errors, mostly print in nature although there are many factual falsehoods."
29th. What the hell. All nickname = who can be found on her journal, btw. lightstone_heroAugust 29 2011, 00:54:50 UTC
Hilda was here looking though a pile of books, both on dragons and myths of Unova, though that was only serving to remind her how much she missed the Legendaries that she had back home. Vikki, Combat and Reshi.
A few books also are also on home made food, something that she's, while not brilliant at, she likes to make food for her team.
She was silent for a while before a snort of laughter came from her direction as she turned the page to look at Cobalion's page. Of all the images they had to use, why the one of a carving that made Combat look cross eyed?
Not that she noticed . If she did, she'd have felt more than a little chastised. Either way, she kept reading, until there was another laugh, this time more a snort than anything though. A mumble followed. "Please. Combat learn your facts before publishing things like this. It's embarrassing."
Linefacing, the book's closed and another one, this time on general dragons is pulled out of the pile.
Ugh, that was it. Cyrus stood dramatically, drawing himself up from the table to his full height, and stormed over to Hilda. "Do you find amusement," he asked her bluntly, "in this continuous noisemaking?"

Knuckles wasn't often found in the Library. In fact, finding him there was extremely rare. However, he needed a reference book on some particular Pokemon, specifically regarding their anatomy for some class or other.
He happened to catch Cyrus out of the corner of his eye as he rounded one aisle of books, several tomes already in hand. However, he thought it was probably not best to greet the teacher loudly in this eerily quiet setting. So, he gave a polite nod and a wave.

Cyrus nodded in return, content to leave it at that until he noticed what book Knuckles was holding. "I am finished with that one. You may reference it if you need."

"Oh... huh. Yeah, actually, if you're done with it I'd be happy to look it over. I think it has more of what I need in it. Thanks."
