Alien Invasion
I haven't had an end of the world dream in a while, but I had one last night. I'm always dreaming these things that, when I wake up, I think would be totally awesome in a horror or sci-fi movie.
I don't remember much from the one from last night, unfortunately, but it was in the distant future and the earth was being taken over by evil aliens. So some humans had these sort of robotic helmets attached to their heads. The helmets could read what they were thinking. If it was something the aliens didn't like, the helmet would slice open their skull with a laser, open it up like a lid, cut out a part of the brain and replace it with a piece of like synthetic neurons to change what the person thought or believed. Why the victims didn't feel the pain I don't know, but I guess the helmets controlled that, too. One woman, I think it was Winona Ryder, was thinking something particularly offensive, so it sliced out her whole frontal cortex, sort of like a complete lobotomy. It was pretty gruesome, but I love these dreams.
