Inspired by Casting Crowns...

How do you know what love is if you've never seen it before? How do you know what love is if you've only been lonely? If you only want to fit in... if you only want someone to tell you they care?

A servant of Christ is to tell the world how much Christ cared for it... but not without reaching out to individuals. Ignoring someone lost in pain is to ignore the very heart of God and the suffering of Christ, his only son. They are everywhere... and they aren't going to care about how much you know (salvation in Christ) until they know how much you care (about them)...

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? -Romans 10:14

Go, stand in the temple courts," he said, "and tell the people the full message of this new life." -Acts 5:20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:19,20

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. -1 Peter 3:15

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. -2 Corinthians 5:20

"Does Anybody Hear Her"
Casting Crowns

She is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
She is trying
But the canyon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find
She's another two years older
And she's three more steps behind

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even knows she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

She is yearning
For shelter and affection
That she never found at home
She is searching
For a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day
And in walks her prince charming
And he knows just what to say
Momentary lapse of reason
And she gives herself away

If judgment looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we never even met her

(He is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction...)
I just watched the video for this song here and it was moving... I just about threw my chair when I got to the end of it, because of how true it is. Sometimes we ignore the fallen, the lost, and the troubled.
There's a scene in the video where the people leave the cafe where the "lost" girl works, and they leave a crappy tip and a tract.
Is that really all evangelism has come to these days? Just leave a tract and hope that whoever sees it will suddenly turn to Christ? (That way, you know, you can just continue on your merry way, and not have to get dirty, or potentially be associated with a "sinner." Your testimony, or your listening ears don't help win souls for Christ at all... nope... that takes to long... a tract is like an instant miracle...) Grr... I'm getting off topic.....

"I don't think it bothers the world that we sin. I think it bothers the world that we act like we don't." -Mark Hall (of Casting Crowns)

Can we please be human with one another? Can we let go of titles and labels and just be? Can we comfort those that need comforting, and stop meandering around in our flocks?

Oh, Lord... How I'm sorry for judging others, how I'm sorry for the times where I've let people pass by without even giving one thought as to who they really are and if they know You... Help me let you be the judge of people's hearts, and give me the words to speak to those who need your Love.
