I know you are all praying. Felt slightly like posting, and definitely didn't feel like doing homework, so this seemed like a lovely filler.
Since last time I've gone touring with Wind Ensemble and that was quite fun. We had the entire afternoon from 3 til whenever on Monday to do what we wanted in Jackson, so I went to the mall with Lane and Jason Raby and some folks and then Lane and I went to dinner with Matthew Doude at Olive Garden. Fun stuff. We then went back to the hotel rooms and entertained ourselves. A lovely evening. The next day the concerts were alright, so that was great.
I'm kicking some booty in my classes so far, but they continue to be the bane of my existence. German especially is rough. We have our midterm in there on Friday, and it covers ALL the material thus far this semester and is in essay question format that we must write in German. I'm convinced I'm going to die. Oh well. Have several tests after I come back from spring break (next week) also, but those are definitely worries for a later date.
Just a couple more days of classes and then get to have a week off. Praise the Lord. Some much needed rest. Friday to Sunday I'm going to an Episcopal retreat called Vocare, and that should be fun. See if I can pick up any studs... hehe... just kiddin'. Then I'm going to go home and chill for a couple days with my brother and folks. I'm really excited to see Zach for longer than an hour, and I'm also hoping to get some golf in. That'll be great. I'm going to make a road trip up to Vicksburg so Lane and I can go dress shopping for stupid Formal, and also I need to visit my friend Biscuit. This is my good buddy in the fraternity that I got calls from at 1 and 2 every morning before. He got in a terrible car accident last Thursday and is still unconscious. One of the people in the other car died. Biscuit is stable, but had a stroke and has a broken hip and had to have reconstructive surgery for his face. Prayers for him. He's at the University Medical Center, so going to stop in there. Otherwise, plans are to relax.
Some stories for entertainment sake... Friday night there was a Mardi Gras party at my friends Shelley and Jordan's place, and it was much fun. They had king cake, jello, and tequila... so what more could you want. One of the guys there (Josh McNeill) ended up shaving his head for $26, and needless to say he wasn't happy about that the next day. Saturday was southern regionals for Theta Tau, so I got to wake up early and head off to a boring meeting. On the way to the meeting, there was a small child carrying what looked like a giant white square, and in my slightly muddled head, I was pondering how that kid got hold of such a big marshmallow. I was quite perplexed until we turned the corner and saw the fountain had been soaped with this fantastic foam. It was so great. You could pick it up and it would take off. Definitely some sort of antigravity foam. Lane, Phillip, and I played in it for a good while. I guess, rather, Lane and I played and Phillip looked on in dismay. The meeting pretty much sucked, but they had donuts and then sandwiches afterwards, so it was all good. I went swimming that afternoon to get my system back in shape and then went to the house to decorate for the New Orleans party. That was a fantastic hit. We put purple and green cellophane over the lights and so it made colored lighting and then dimmed the lights in the living room, so it was really cool. Plus, there were hand grenades and a bunch of folks from other chapters, so that made it quite fun. Iota Gamma's the devil. Hehehe....
Got some lovely harrassment from my friend Jason tonight about how to handle relationships. I get along pretty well with Phillip and enjoy hanging out with him, but I'm not super duper attached or anything. I think this is alright, and I figure I'll stay with him for a while because I do enjoy his company. I learn about dating people. It's quite interesting.
As promised to try to keep this somewhat shorter than my previous ones, I go. Hope everyone's having fun and livin' it up. I know that's my goal for college.
