Yuck. Time is going so quickly.
Oh goodness. Yesterday was so great. In the morning I did catheters again, and it was so wonderful. Every single vein I got in and threaded like it was nothing. Even this old sick cat I got first stick easy. So great. I have really gotten much better at catheters over the summer, and I actually managed to place a catheter that Candy couldn't get the other day, and she's the one we call in when we can't get them. :D
So anyway.. did that... and then had a slow morning. Did a McDonald's food run. Then, Ellen came in at noon, and we always have a blast. It's so hilarious. She has such a great sense of humor and we die laughing. Candy calls us the comic relief. Hehe. It was still slow, so we made a Sonic run that afternoon. In the evening, right when I was about to go, Dr. List asked me to pull back an appointment. It ended up being a C-Section on this fox hound hunting dog. This is about at 6, and I'm supposed to go to the bowling alley at 8 for the going away party they were throwing for me. I decided to stay and help out Dr. List and Ellen (the way the schedule works is Monday and Friday we have one doctor stay late with two techs... so I stayed to be an extra set of hands). We ended up doing the section at about 7, and weren't out of there til almost 9. The mom was hugely swollen and jam packed with puppies. However, she'd been in labor for a couple of days, so we were uncertain about the status of the pups. We ended up taking 10 puppies out and we had techs, kennel staff, receptionists, and even boyfriends slinging puppies trying to get them to breathe. Ended up all died, but we tried valiantly. Poor little things. Stupid red neck negligent owners. So frustrating.
That was not entirely great, but after that we all went bowling and it was so much fun. They are such a great group. Bobbie printed out about a 7 foot long banner for me that said Good Luck, etc, and was signed by everyone there. It was really nice. As we all were leaving, Ellen had brought her brother Pascal (they are French), and we decided we were hungry so he drove us to Waffle House. Yum. I hadn't eaten since the Sonic at 4, so a waffle at midnight wasn't too bad. Hehe. They are both so funny. Hah. We played all the waffle house songs in the jukebox. So great. I think my favorite was "There are raisins in my toast."
Today Carly, Angelina (THANKS), and I practiced for when we play "All Things Bright and Beautiful" during the offertory tomorrow. It sounds good, I'm excited.
Tomorrow I play, and then get to go out to a sandbar to fish and swim on Linda's boat. Ellen is going, and she's bringing Pascal (hehe), so it should be really fun. I'm so glad I'm going to be able to work at the vets Christmases and summers. :D
Now I go to tend to more college nonsense. I really am looking forward to it... it's just a lot of hassle.
But away I go. Have a nice evening everybody.
