According to a news report I read:
Jun 22 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Relief Pitcher Scot Shields struck out four Philadelphia Phillies in the eighth inning Saturday, June 21, according to The Associated Press. The last Angels pitcher to accomplish the feat before Shields was Chuck Finley, who did it against the Detroit Tigers Aug. 15, 1999.
Since when are there four outs in an inning? Why has this happened before?
