I goofed up- big time!
Yester day, we( sue and I ) were sitting in our back yard and letting the kids play in the sprinklers, this year we did not concentrate much on our garden, this year we dedicated to finish the basement! So we were talking this and that about how the weeds were taking over, over to the left side of our back yard there is this huge growth of tall plants which had like small purple flowers on the tips of them. We did'nt what kind they were so I said, " we need to pull those out" she said " you do it ".. in a mocking way knowing that I wouldn't do it.
So this morning I woke up around 5:30 and sneaked brewed and had some fresh coffee found my gardening shoes and gloves, picked up a couple of yard bags and went to the back yard, it looked so much to pull out, but I was over come with eagerness. I couldn;t wait to hear Sue exclaim in joy after she sees the whole yard de-weeded! so I spent like 1 &1/2 hr pulling out weeks, these were big ones, I filled 2 big yard bags at the end of the whole back breaking sweaty job, I was drenched. I thought I would substitute my gym time with this yard work. It worked out great, I was sweating and panting at the end of it. The yard was all clean of weedy plants. There were no tall flowering plants.
So i hit the shower, got dressed and left to work even before she or the kids woke up. BTW, i love Honey bunches of Oats !
I could wait for her to call me and tell me about the wonderful job I did, so I called her and asked her to look outside at the back yard. When she looked at it she goes, "OH MY GOD, what the heck did you do?" why did you pull out all those flowering plants, all the bees and the humming birds come out to visit those plants, why did you pull them out? they are not weeds...." and so on.
I honestly thought I was helping the yard and her, I guess I did more damage than de-weeding.and it looks like it has back fired on me now! I think I might have to do more yard work and to make up for the goof up I did with her "flowering Plants".
