YAY good news!!
the Europe trip is actually happening!! its happening!! I guess that i was starting to lose faith that we would get our act together and start planning but the ball has started rolling and it is fabulous. These are some of the places we are hitting up:

At some point this week I need to come up with the money for the plane ticket (CRAP!) as well as hopefully the Eurail and flight between Italy and Spain. I am probably going to be putting as much as possible on my credit card and paying whatever else I can from my meager savings account. I know it sounds sketchy, but if I don't just buy the tickets I am going to psyche myself out and not go. Later on we are going to reserve beds at hostels, so I have some more time until I need to come up with the money for that.
My plan once I am there is to be a minimalist. I recently got this sweet hiking backpack from my dad which should work well for luggage, and I think that I can pack pretty light. I also know that most breakfasts will be provided at the hostels, so I only really have to worry about feeding myself for two meals a day. Then there is souvenier money, party/alcohol money, and incidental "interesting things to do" money. If I plan this really, really well I think that I can do it. Plus it is so assuring that just a few days after I get back I will be starting work at my spiffy new job and too busy to spend money.
