My turn to send out my wishes to all for a happy Thanksgiving! For those of you celebrating with family or friends, may the food be tasty and the conversation civil. For those of you who have to work today, my deepest sympathy. I hope you get a chance to kick back and relax at some point, and if not, I hope they are paying you very, very well.
Thanksgiving is not one of my favorite holidays, but it's probably the one that I need to celebrate the most. It's really easy for me to focus on what is going wrong in my life or the ways that it doesn't live up to my expectations, so taking a minute to stop and think about what is good and what I take for granted is important. So here goes, things that I am thankful for today, starting with:
1. ALL OF YOU! I am so grateful for those who have accepted me into your lives and are willing to call me your friend. Thank you for caring and for making me feel loved!
2. My family. My parents for letting me live my own life without strings, and my big sister for taking care of me when I wanted someone to let me not be adult for awhile, and my little brother for giving me the chance to do the same for him, and all of them for loving me and supporting me and letting me decide what is best for me.
3. My apartment. Aside from the plumbing issues, it's pretty much perfect, and way better than I deserve.
4. My job. As much as I whine about it, I really am lucky to have it and the freedom it gives me to have and do pretty much all the things I want to have and do.
5. Food! I am so thankful for the fact that I have so many choices of delicious food to eat every day, and for the delivery people who make it all possible...
...and the list goes on with about a million different things like the chance to travel, music, my health, my computer, the Internet, good shows to entertain me, books and the people who write and publish them, technology to make my life easier, my kitty cat who always keeps things interesting, summertime in the city, heat in the winter, public transportation, fuzzy blankets, comfortable clothes, Starbucks, beaches...
and now you're going to be thankful because I'm stopping now. A very happy Thanksgiving to you all!
