I wrote this because of the seniors leaving it made me realize of how short high school is. I wrote this suprisingly in a short amount of time. I'm proud of myself.
To Finish The Race:
We enter through the doors not knowing what to expect.
Walk down the hall with people we will never forget.
Just another day with one more laugh.
Just another day with one more memory.
Freshman year done, three more to go.
With many more people you get to know.
Were on our way, just racing to the finish line.
Friends you once knew,
Are changing right in front of you.
You carry on with different friends.
But the memories remain.
The pep rally, homecoming, and laughs stay planted in your mind.
Just another week with many more laughs.
Just another week with many more memories.
Sophmore year done, two more to go.
With many more people you get to know.
Were on our way almost to the finish line.
Beginning of the year new faces appear.
You remember that was you, freshman year.
With a new class rank people look up to you.
But the thing was you had no clue.
Just another year with many more laughs.
Just another year with many more memories.
Junior year done, one more to go.
College on your mind and a future to behold.
You don't feel ready.
You need someone to tell you what you are told.
Just getting closer to the finish line.
Walk through those doors one final time.
Walk down the halls remembering every step.
Just waiting for that last bell.
With people you will never forget.
Past four years with so many laughs.
Past four years with so many memories.
Senior year done, high school over.
You walk across that stage realizing how lucky you are.
Everyone leaves in different directions.
We all learned so many lessons.
We all can't believe we finished the race.
All leading to a new place.
