on sleepless roads the sleepless go

I'm researching graduate schools to apply to. Luckily, most of them don't even start accepting applications until September, so this gives me time to come up with a good personal statement/statement of purpose/ personal ad. and re-take the GRE. I did ok on the GRE the first time, but just to be impressive, I want to boost my score a bit. Unless I do an MCAT repeat and like, do worse. That'd be lame.

It looks like what I'm really interested in is called a "Dr. PH" or doctor of public health. The only small glitch is that though a lot of schools offer it, some specify that they'd like experienced health professionals to apply for it. However, they are more open to anyone applying for master of public health. So my goal is to find out if when I'm admitted as a master's student, can I like, extend it into a doctoral program at some point?

The good news is, many put preference in having a health-related masters prior to applying. Thankfully I will be completing my masters in healthcare innovation before I enter (obviously). But that'll greatly help me! Yay, there was some worth to all this.

My top picks so far are Berkeley, Colorado and University of Washington. Boston and University of Illinois, Chicago have good ones too but are more rigid about the whole "experience" thing for the doctoral programs. Still good options though...

I just hope that if I apply to the like, billion schools and variety of programs I'm applying to, I get in to SOMETHING and not something in AZ.

Crossing my fingers.
