084. TEN movies/books you'd recommend and why.
"The Last Unicorn" By Peter S. Beagle
Because its my favorite. And a good lesson on the nature of the world.
Die Hard
Because he threw a car at a helicopter in the most recent movie. What the hell else do you need?
"Chronicles of Narnia" By C. S. Lewis
First off I mean the books. In the correct order. (Not the way they are being sold now. It's all wrong and ruins the story.) For starters? Talking animals. I'm on that train. Second biblical allegory, without being to heavy handed. (I'm not religious, but a lot of religious people seem to hate me. Trying to figure out why.) Third? Guide to supernatural much? Also? Awesome story.
"Kabuki" Drawn, painted and written by David Mack
Uh. . .she's hot. And so is Scarab. And Akemi. Also the artwork is like nothing you've ever seen before and the story is phenomenal. And zen, so frighteningly zen.
Boondock Saints
Quite frankly? I just dig it.
"White Fang" By Jack London
The difference between survival and living. It's one of a me favorites. Again, we're talking book not movie. Don't watch the Disney movie. Believe it or not the book has a way happier ending.
"The Butter Battle" By Dr. Seuss
Doctor Seuss tackles nuclear war.
"The Lives of Christopher Chant" By Dianna Wynn Jones
The kid actually has nine lives and he's hilarious. See the appeal?
MacGyver
He saves the world with duct tape, a Swiss Army knife and chocolate. Need I say more?
"Just So Stories" By Rudyard Kipling
Because not everything should be taken so seriously. Old fashion fables that are actually funny and not to much with the two-by-four morals.
