I wouldn't say "mastered". "Vaguely competent", perhaps. Once I can make even stitches loose enough to feed along the needles without having to jam it all from the end, and I've made something more complicated... then maybe mastered.

Heh. It is a lot more complicated than crochet - but for that, you can do more interesting things, from what I'm seeing.

Plus I am a supergenius, after all. And cables are fun.

Heavy equipment tends to be less portable - hard to take with you to craft nights and on trips. I think it's the "heavy" part. How heavy does "heavy" have to be? What if I have size 15, six-foot knitting needles made of lead? That'd be heavy.

Yeah, sorry, the loom alone still takes up more space than my entire current textile kit including yarns. :p

First I'd need tons of string. And authentic-ish Viking string. Which would mean spinning. Which in turn would take a year. :p
