Title: Cold Cup of Tea
Author: smarmypenguin
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: characters are J.Ks, I'm just screwing around with them for awhile.
Summary: A poem about Harry and Draco. AU (maybe, its really up to the reader to decide where to set it).

i

Overcast cloudy day melts into the mournful evening light.
Dust settles on cold wooden floors,
the grey light soaks skin and erodes time.
A day old cup of tea,
stirred steadily with a tarnished silver tea spoon.
Cold frail hands
smudge grey pencil on a clean sheet of parchment.
The tea cup slips out of shaking hands and chilled dead lips;
shattered china.

ii

Sitting on the bottom step,
on an old case of rickety stairs.
Worn red socks hiding frozen toes.
forgotten like pale red scars;
littered over acres of colorless threadbare skin.
Dreams of a narcoleptic fantasy.
His finger tips tracing the phantasmagoric slivers of reality
Green eyes half open.
Long dark eye lashes.

iii

The china shatters,
uproar screams into the shadows.
Tired limbs wake from the bottom step and come running;
red socks noiseless on wooden floors.
It was subtle; like english summer rain,
or the cold cup of tea that now stained the wooden floors.
A tiny flicker of the eye; could mean anything,
to them it meant understanding.
and made legs suddenly become weak.
