Oh..THAT empty seat rumor. First of all, it's originated from a Japanese gossip blog, written by an unknown source. It was only one blog, one entry, that was picked up and translated into English. Second of all, judging from actual reports from Japanese fans from twitters and forums, there was practically a ticket war when the lottery result was announced. And third, this happens to any bands, any concert, and any sport event in everywhere else. Someone will buy tons of extra tickets for a popular event, hoping to sell it at a higher price later on. Sometimes all those tickets will be sold, sometimes not all of these tickets can be resold. It happens everywhere even with the FIFA World Cup or the Summer Olympics, probably the two biggest events of the world.
And if the mean comment you mentioned is about that Music Station appearance, there already is a behind-the-scene report from the audience, who said all of the Johnny groups were chatting and seemed to be friendly. A member of Funky Monkey Babys also wrote a very nice blog on how Kimura being really nice to him by noticing that he had a hoarse voice so Kimura sent his manager to give the guy some medicine. I'm annoyed with the comment too because that appearance was quite a normal appearance for SMAP. They acted normally like they always do on Music Station but I guess those who hadn't seen SMAP on MS before had expected them to be lovey-dovey or crazily friendly toward other groups.
Anyway, I hope what I said here can make you feel better. Just ignore the naysayers and enjoy the ride. SMAP has been through all these criticism for 20-plus years they're still going strong. Don't let anyone else spoil your fandom XD
Thank you very much for your response. It makes me feel very happy for Smap. Although I haven't known Smap for long but I really like them. I guess because I like the way they are.. being normal..having both up and down time like all of us. I feel their sincereness and enjoy being one of their fan :)
