According to D-addicts, the Tsuki no Koibito finale brought in 16.2% ratings. Pretty disappointing. What did everyone think of the last episode and the series overall (let's make this a spoiler post)? What do you think of the ratings?

I have kind of mixed feelings towards this drama. I had rather high expectations and I enjoyed it a lot at the beginning. my main worries were Chi Ling - because I haven't heard many good opinions about her acting - and Matsuda Shota because I had a strange prejudice towards him. but Xiu Mei was really beautiful and it was enough to like her at the beginning [except that then she became really annoying]. and I really liked Kazami, as a character, until the very end.

my faith in this drama started to fade around the middle, I'm not sure, was it 4th-5th episode? it seemed to be getting a bit too twisted and unreasonable. then I really enjoyed the 7th and 8th episode - except for the very ending. what was that? I was all for HazukixMaemi from the very beginning and I was sure he was going to end up with her eventually. but the way it was presented was so completely not satisfying. there was all the drama and tragedy of his love to Xiu Mei and then when he finally let her go, he kind of settled for the comfortable relationship with his long-time friend. it wasn't romantic at all in my opinion, no sparkles. especially compared with what he had with Xiu Mei. it all happened too suddenly and then ended. perhaps I should blame the fact that it was only 8 episodes long [could've been longer].

still, I don't think it was bad and I enjoyed it more often than not. and I'm definitely going to rewatch it, just KimuraxShinohara is a good enough reason. ^.^
