Why is he playing the son of a CHINESE billionaire!!?? Use a Chinese guy for that role! That's the one reason I will never watch Memoirs of a Geisha.

Sorry. I had to get that out.

On the other hand, I am eager to watch "Hero." Kuryuu was out of character in the most recent drama special (he was like Kimura Takuya), so I hope he's gone back to the weirdness that he was in the original.

Man, I sound pessimistic. Sorry. By the way, I'm quarter Chinese and three quarters Japanese, so it's not that I have something against China or Japan.

We all know he's gonna rock with whatever he does, though.

Was everyone in "Troy" Greek? Was everyone in "300" Spartan? Was everyone in "Braveheart" Scottish? Was everyone in "Hotel Rwanda" from Rwanda? Were the Irish in "Gangs of New York" actually Irish?

No.

Yet for someone reason everyone gets their panties in a wad when Asians play other Asians. It's an actors job to play someone else. Get over it.

finally! a news about Takuya's film, which was partially filmed here in my home country. hmmm... why didn't they just have Takuya play the son of a Japanese billionaire based in HK or sth. i only see a small role for Takuya here. :( for some reason, i'm not excited about this film. why-oh-why?! but i'm very much excited with Hero.
