Date Night.

Mmmm that was fun. A really nice date! We saw Milk at the Somerville Theatre and had dinner at Small Plates in Harvard Sq. Milk was fantastic, I loved every bit of it. I didn't find it as sad as I feared it was going to be. Hopeful actually, hopeful and really beautiful. It was certainly the first time I've seen such a beautiful portrayal of a loving, kind, deep, humor filled, compassionate, intimate, long-term homosexual relationship on screen. They did such a good job of that. It was of course at times difficult to watch as there were moments of hatred and horrid words and actions, but the underlying theme was one of hope, support and love.

Small Plates was also nice. We had beet and sweet potato salad with currant dressing and chevre, duck breast with rhubarb stuffing and seared apples, and seared sea scallops over black rice with dijon sauce. mmmmm. Not the most phenomenal tapas I've ever had, but a good date place, great service, and interesting food.

Yay date night!
