Weird. I usually put Philip Glass on when I'm studying. Today I decide just to listen to ABC Classic. So they decide to play Philip Glass.. and it's the Three songs for voices. Awesome. :)

2005, yay, music, study

Is that the three songs which included a piece called 'there are some men'? Because if it is, the FUCS library has a copy of it, and we did it back in 93 (I think - might have been 94). It was very cool.

See above. (=

We went to the ABC studios and recorded it, too, and then Kynan lost the @#$! DAT. Bastard. I think it was one of the best performances we'd ever done.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I have a recording of it somewhere, from the FUCS concert. Do you want me to see if I can find it? (I make no promises I can find it though).

That would be neat - I do think we made a better job of it than the CD choir. I guess a concert recording won't be as clean as the studio one, but it'd be nice to have.

I'll have a look-see. If I still have it, it will be [ominous music please] out in the shed somewhere....

*augh!*

I'll see if I can find it. If I can, I'll bring it to AIV

I might also take a look through the compactus.. but I think Bruce is right.. I think that one got lost by Kynan. Grr. Not that I sang in it.. but I still feel the pain. :)

winikoff is pretty sue we've got a copy out in the shed of the concert recording, but it's on cassette. If we can find it, we'll transfer it to CD, and provide you and the AICSA and FUCS archives with copies. I loved singing it - they were great pieces - really cool. FUCS should do them again. If you did, I think I'd make an effort to go over to Adelaide to be in the audience! There should certainly be some copies of the music in the compactus - there were when I was Librarian ("in ye olde timeses")

Is that from the Walford concert ? I'd love a copy of that too !! Bollocks. Now you've all got me humming "Quand les hommes vivrant d'amour" (or however one spells it...).

If I can find it, the FUCS archive will get a copy, and I'm sure you can grab a copy from there. Yes it's the Walford concert. Heh heh...memories of Chris S being ogled by a pack of Walford guys, before pairing off very visibly with his b/f Ben, to the obvious disappointment (and horror) of the young and naive schoolies...

I've got to get it transferred from cassette to CD, and that means grovelling to a friend of mine first ;-)
