That's just lovely. I love seeing the dynamic between those two spelled out more, and that timing is just perfect.

Thanks. I know t.v. only has 43 minutes, and we did get the bit at the funeral, but they never seem to do enough with the emotional fallout of the wringers they put our characters through.

But then again, fanfic writers often do it better than the show, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise. :)

No, they never do deal with the emotional fallout enough. However, it really does leave us more to play with, so I can't complain too much. The world would be poorer for you not having the chance to write this.
