Posting clarification & additional info

To clarify the part yesterday, in which I mentioned you shouldn't divide your story into chapters/parts and post over several days:

If you're posting on LJ, just about everyone's story is going to be too long for one post, so stories will need to be divided into more than one post.  However, all chapters/parts should be posted on the same day.

Cool, I have a long time yet to post, but I'll definitely think of posting there when it's my turn since my LJ is locked :)

Excellent! Are you already a member over there? If not, it's a little like Dreamwidth. You have to be invited. I have one invitation I'd be glad to give you, or you can just click on their 'Send an Invite' button on the homepage. You're put on a waiting list, but they don't turn people down, that I know of. I don't know how long the wait is now; I think it was about two weeks for me. Anyway, just let me know.

Heh, I love your Tangled icon.

I sent on the list. Save what you have. They said I should get off it by November 11th which is before I post.

LiveJournal has been a total runt lately and I'm so pleased my publish date is the 25th. If by then LJ is still being a runt, I'll post on AO3 and it will be all chapters of Aquadisiac and possibly Aquadisiac's sequel...

Yes, the Cordy/AC pairing has trapped me!

Yeah, LJ has been really frustrating for the last couple of months. It's seems like it's back to normal, but then things go wonky again.

I'm glad you're having such a good time with your Cordy/AC story. I hope you'll consider putting it on AO3, too, even if you are able to put it on LJ. It's such a fantastic fandom resource. Either way, good luck with your story.

I've got three chapters of a sequel to Aquadisiac and you can blame countless re-runs of Baywatch for this LOL

I didn't actually realise that Baywatch was a real true-to-life part of the L.A. County Fire Department section and that they really wear red one-piece swimsuits! Just so I got all my facts correct for the sequel, I downloaded a lifeguard manual and wow. I now have total respect for those people and I just hope I bring them justice in Aquadizzyack.

Can't believe that one story has given me an whole new pairing and a pairing between two totally different characters at that!

Hello! I'm hosting a writing week over at gsd_rtfn, which is a writers/artists cheerleading comm aimed at helping people finish projects. When people check in their daily word count, they sometimes share a brief snippet or a story summary, as long as it's okay with the rules of their particular Big Bang. We've got one or two folk writing for smallvillebbang. Could you possibly let me know what your rules are about people sharing brief snippets/summaries in a public post? That way I can post them up. Thanks!

That sounds like a wonderful comm. I wouldn't have any problem with the requested paragraph being posted. The stories are only required to be 10,000 words, so I'd be uncomfortable with more than about 500 words being shared. Thank you for asking, and good luck with the writing week.

I'm newish to it, but it's a very nice place! People post only brief snippets of several sentences, so they wouldn't hit anywhere near the 500 word mark. I'll update the comm rules, thank you!
