So an amazing thing happened to me last night while I was spending some time alone with my wonderful Savior. I had just read the chapters in Captivating about romance and beauty, and it mentioned how the authors friend used different secular love songs while she was having her quiet time. Well if you know me at all, then you know that music plays a huge role in my life, and to think that some of my favorite songs could be used in such a way was incredible. As I lay in bed praying and listening to my Father, a phantom of the opera song came on my iPod (shuffle mode is a beautiful thing). It made me think of the song that the woman in the book mentioned, so I immediately turned to "All I Ask of You", a duet of two lovers devotion to one another. As I listened to the words that Raoul sang I could feel the Lord of the universe romancing ME... filthy, unworthy, plain, me. I have never felt more beautiful and more wanted in my entire life than I did in those moments. My Savior has once again drawn me into an intimate and passionate relationship with Him, and I pray that you will allow Him to do the same for you. I didn't put the whole song on here because it's pretty long...but these are the words from Raoul, and from Jesus Christ, to you and to me.

No more talk of darkness,
Forget these wide-eyed fears.
I'm here, nothing can harm you - my words will warm and calm you.

Let me be your freedom,
let daylight dry your tears.
I'm here with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you...

Let me be your shelter,
let me be your light.
You're safe:
No-one will find you -
your fears are far behind you...

Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime...
let me lead you from your solitude....
Say you need me with you here, beside you...
anywhere you go, let me go too -
that's all I ask of you...

Anywhere you go let me go too...
Love me - that's all I ask of you...
