Remember the Friday Five?

1) How do you feel about people who commit suicide? Such as, do you feel that they are too lazy to deal with life, have depression, do you feel sorry for them, etc.?
I don't feel that they're lazy at all, and I do feel sorry for those individuals who are successful in their attempts. I can't say with certainty if I've ever been genuinely suicidal, but I've been extremely depressed (hello freshman year of college), so depressed that I couldn't get out of bed in the morning, so I can understand the desire to not exist and the belief that humankind in general would be better off without you. Luckily I haven't been that bad for two years (I'm just more of a moody bitch now), which I'm grateful for every day.

2) What do you think people say about you behind your back?
Probably that I'm stuck up, standoffish and hypersensitive to criticism. The last two points are actually true sometimes, so I can't get too upset at people for noticing. However, I'm not really stuck up, I can just be extremely shy until you get to know me.

3) If you could own and operate any major business, what would it be?
I would love to own a small independent bookstore (not likely in the age of Borders), or a place that sells yarn and knitting books/notions.

4) Are you/would you be embarrassed to talk to your friends or family about sex?
Family, goodness yes. Friends, no. In fact, I think I may be too open to talking to my friends about sex sometimes :OP

5) In some cultures, young women are married and begin families as soon as they start a menstrual cycle. Do you believe this is right or wrong? Why?
Depends on the societies that we're talking about. In America, there's no good reason for women to be married/auctioned off that early, as continual male protection (going from a father/brother's authority to a husband's) is not necessary for a woman's honor or survival. I don't want to necessarily condemn those cultures that do have a young marriage age for women, as I'm becomming more and more wary of imposing our liberal Western standards on other societies - especially since I think that our women can be just as oppressed, just in different ways.
