So, I was all excited today when Lenscrafters called to say my glasses were ready. I even dragged Cliff to Columbia with me to pick them up and have dinner. Well, after wearing them a while, I discover that they're worse than my old glasses, even though they should be the same prescription. I then realize that if I slide them down my nose, they work just fine, but I look like a doofus. Turns out, they put the lenses in with the bad fit that the "try them on to see what looks good" set of frames had. Then, when I picked them up, they adjusted the frames to properly fit my face. (As I was sitting there, I was even thinking, "Gee, she's adjusting those glasses an awful lot. Maybe this isn't such a good thing." but I didn't say anything.) Frick. The special-order lenses will have to be special-ordered again. This means that if I can get back there before Monday, I'll still have to wait until after Vegas for my awesome new glasses.

Plus, now that I have my cute new glasses, I now noticed something not-so-cute. They're red metallic metal frames. "Grenadine" to be exact. With WHITE LETTERING on one side to spell out the in-house designer's name. I don't want my glasses to be a status symbol, especially when it says "I bought the cheapest level of frames". If I had noticed this white lettering, I may not have bought the suckers.

Thank goodness for the whole 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
