(no subject)
I am officially an employee again. WOOHOO! After a 2 1/2 month hiatus from working, I was ready to go back. It's especially great that my going back to work consists of working at a great place with great people, doing the one thing I am most passionate about - church. There are going to be tons of opportunities for me to plug in at Redeemer, and I am way excited about it. It's gonna be a busy job, that's for sure, but busy in a very good way. My boss isn't there this week or next, so I'm spending my first two weeks getting acclimated to the existing ministries, staff members, and goings on. I spent my first day touring the building (2 hours or so) and learning some basics about the organizational structure of the congregation. Tomorrow's schedule consists of a staff meeting and trying to connect with some of the staff members to learn what they do. It's always interesting going into a new church as a staff member - it can be both a rewarding and not-so-rewarding experience. Luckily, this one seems like it's going to be very positive. The people are all great - very welcoming, and very excited to add me to their staff.
I'm headed out to this cute little Cuban restaurant tonight with two of my girlfriends that I went to AFFIRM with ... it's amazing that the people I consider some of my bestest friends are all people who I only spent a week or so with growing up - it's a wonderful testament to the power of God's community. Anyway - I'm excited for tacos and margaritas with two of my besties :)
In other news - WTF is up with this weather????? I have my frickin' heat on (well, it's not blowing at the moment, but that's because I refuse to set the thermostat up past 65). I didn't bring my coat with me, or many winter clothes for that matter, because I thought it would be warm from here on out. BOO HISS - come back spring time!!
