Yesterday morning on my way to work, they closed the Park Street T-station. In Boston, that is the hub, the very epicenter, of the subway. The two lines I use (green and red) intersect there. But there was a "funny smell" so they shut the whole place down for a while.
Thank goodness for Code Orange and war and paranoia.
Last night I went out with Kevin and all of our best guy friends. It was really really fun. We hit up this cheesy bar downtown, full of "suits" on their way home from work, stopping in for some drinks. One of our friends brought his co-worker, and she turned out to be really cool. That was fun. She had hung out at this bar many-a-time before and the bartender recognized her. Know what this means? It means after paying for my first two drinks, the rest were free. I only had two more (plus some weird fruity shot he made to celebrate some other girl's "eleventeenth" birthday--long story) but that was enough to make me quite tipsy. I learned a new drink though! So exciting! Stoli Vanilla mixed with Sprite--it's like a not-too-sweet cream soda. Yum!
Needless to say, this morning it was a bit difficult to drag myself to work. But I just polished off a blueberry muffin, and I'm working on my Hawaiian macadamia coffee. Things could be much worse.
Thank goodness for Friday.
This weekend, maybe even tonight, we are going to Target. We need to buy a fitted sheet for our fouton/couch. Kevin wants a basketball. I need a new purse, and I know they have the kind I want. Maybe some spring clothes too--they always have fun little tank-tops and sundresses. And we're also going to Best Buy. I have some money leftover from my birthday and Christmas (long ago I know, but it was given to me in American cash, and I was in a foreign country, so I never spent it), so I will either be purchasing an external CD-RW drive for my laptop, or I will be purchasing a Playstation 2. Such a hard decision. I really can't decide which one I want. Hmmmm....
Practically no one is here at work--a whole bunch of them drove to our office headquarters in Jersey today--so I am slacking. But I actually do have to get this stuff done by this afternoon, so I better get going. Don't want to be stuck here late on a Friday afternoon!
