(no subject)
Went to AFO last weekend... was surprisingly busy, considering I really didn't have much I *had* to do at the con. In any case, I slept through the doll meetup at the local Golden Coral, but I hear that it was friggin' amazing! Well over a hundred dolls in attendance?
Does it get much better than that? ^_^
I managed to make it to the BJD panel on Saturday afternoon. Set Fox & Dinah up on a table, & let Melora stand there, as well (she was bitching rather loudly that she never gets to do anything "fun"... so she crashed the BJD panel).
It was far beyond awesome to see how many dolls showed up, & I thought Selena & that guy (whose name I can't for the life of me remember) did a really good job w/ the panel.
I was sad, though, that Customhouse didn't get a single mention. :( I know, CH lately has been bad about offering anything to their international customers, for over a year their faceups have been stylized in a way that most Americans don't find appealing... and their OOAK/limited dolls just keep getting more & more expensive...
I know I'm biased, but still... I do think CH deserves a mention in passing, if nothing else.
Also, during the panel, the hosts kept mentioning limited dolls, & how expensive they can bee, & how most people don't "play" w/ limited dolls.
Um... Dinah is one of 250 & Fox is OOAK... they both cost less than $700, & I can't imagine not playing w/ either of them...
I need to take new pix. I keep getting frustrated because our camera has decided to boycott all USB cables, & the card reader is a giant PITA...
If I post my Squeezypet's email addy, would anybody email him to tell him how much I need a new camera? ;D
Oh, & speaking of dolls... as if Claudia didn't have enough problems... she sits in a chair next to our computer. Every once in awhile, I hit her legs, & she's fine. Tonight, though, somebody called for Squeezums (after he'd gone to bed), & as I was jumping for the phone, I snapped off one of Claudia's legs.
Harrumph.
Luckily, I had Elmer's glue & zip ties lying about the house, so I think she's all fixed up.
But that doesn't stop me from being cranky. ;P
