Bad momma

A confession:

So apparently breastfeeding is supposed to help you bond to your child--that oxytocin rush cements the mother-child love and helps you love your little one despite him pooping all over you.

Nope. Not for me.

In a spectacular display of warped neurochemistry, for some reason I find breastfeeding to be a chore. There is no loving bond, no feeling of warm-fuzzy-love, no Hallmark moment of sunshine and bunny rabbits during the 30 minutes it can take him to finish. I feel these emotions in the moments when he gurgles at me, when he smiles at me, when he laughs at his toys as we "play" with them (okay, I play with them, he just watches). But feeding? Gods, no.
