Summary:  This started as a story about Dave & Emily and how they would react to their daughter marrying JJ and Will's son Henry.  Then it became a story about Henry and Ella - from the day she was born until he proposes

Oh, I am so glad this is finally seeing the light of day so the rest of the world can squee over it, too.

I love the scenes at the hospital and the school, just love the idea of Rossi being all verklempt over his girl.

Practically at their feet, Ella tripped and fell, going down on her hands and knees. For a second she looked unsure about whether or not she was hurt, then with a quiver of her bottom lip, she started wailing. Bending, Emily swept Ella up in her arms, brushed off the toddler’s hands and knees and kissed her tear stained cheeks.

This is the perfect description of what toddlers do. Andrea's ex used to clap when any of the kids would fall & have that uncertain look on their face, then they'd be like "Oh, yeah, totally meant to do that." Back on track, uh, sorry, anyway completely perfect description of the way toddlers do that.

OMG this is so wonderful. I had to read it again. The whole section where she's pregnant and walking on eggshells and Dave doesn't know how to fix it...

You realize I want about 20,000 words on just that part alone, right? :D

And in the hospital, Henry kissing her on her very first day! And Dave being all choked up!

And man I've seen so many toddlers do that exact thing she did, trying to decide whether to cry or not. And Emily's guilt over wanting to keep working--it's so utterly perfect. She doesn't want to be her mom, but she's so good at profiling. And Dave's response is perfect.

And her first day of school! They grow up so fast, and Dave's little heartbreak when she insisted on being a big girl. And Henry promising to take care of her, of course. I love it.

And then the last section with Will going, so sad. I'm always torn with JJ & Will breaking up, because I really adore him, but I also love JJ with Hotch. And the fight between Henry and Ella, and then their kiss!

Thank you so much. I've reached the point with this story where I think it reeks. So it's really great to see comments like yours. I'm not a big fan of Will but I did have to think about breaking them up. I think he's a good guy but I think she'd be soooooooooooo good with Hotch.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Seriously - thanks so much.

It's possible I'm biased since I RP Will as well as Emily in our game. *G* I love JJ's interactions with Hotch. I think I am just predisposed to love the significant others who realize how AWESOME their love is. Haley didn't fit that bill, but I like Kevin and Will because they adore Garcia and JJ for exactly who they are, Will so much that he gave up everything to move to DC.

But I'm not saying that as a complaint about your story, I hope you realize that! I've written Hotch & JJ before, and I utterly love them, and I look forward to seeing it happen in your story here. She makes him joke with her, and I think she's soooo good for him. And he never underestimates her contribution to the team even though she's not a profiler.

I totally get what you're saying. And I didn't take it as a complaint at all. I think you're right about the SO's. Haley wasn't the right woman for Hotch (even though she didn't have to die like that). That's why I waffled about breaking up Will and JJ. No matter what I keep them friendly.

FINALLY! More than Ming and I can see this masterpiece of fanfic perfection. This is so good, I've even forgiven you for breaking up J.J. & Will (again).

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! It is in posting. SO MUCH LOVE. This reminds me so much of some of my favorite books about being a kid - the last scene in particular is sort of Bridge to Terabithia-ish, all sepia-toned-sweet but very, very real to the people living it. *LOVES*
