(no subject)
earlier this evening, S+I were on our way from his place to my house to have dinner and watch a DVD when we came across an unleashed golden retriever wandering and sniffing around. we looked around for his owner but not a soul was in sight and we figured something was amiss and parked the car by the roadside.
we followed the golden around and spent almost an hour and a half just walking around the holland grove estate, knocking almost door to door, asking if anyone lost a dog, or recognized him. thankfully, everyone was really concerned and helpful. we didn't have any luck finding the golden's home so S+I decided that we should keep the dog for the time being while we get some posters printed and distributed around the vicinity.
right now, the dog's taking residence in S' car porch. S' 3 cats are absolutely mortified at the new guest and have been hiding under S' bed, haha! mousedeer was the first to see the golden, and her tail immediately fluffed to a size like that of a racoon's before scooting off at top speed, haha!
anyway, we reckon he's been abandoned because when we put out some water and dog food for him, he began lapping it all up like he hadn't eaten for days. we're not quite sure if he's just plain greedy, or really hungry so we'll just have to see for now.

the golden has a home! a german family rang our doorbell today and it turns out that their daughter had accidentally left the door open and he'd gone wandering and lost his way. they live quite a distance away and thank goodness S+I took him in for the night. otherwise, we wouldn't have known where else he'd have wandered off to, or what may have happened to him.
so all's good and S+I are really happy to see them reunited again. the golden was bouncing away happily whilst whining and making all sorts of noises as if to tell his owners his story. and i swear i saw the dog cry!
today's gonna be a good day! :)
