Appearance: In the Human World, Yuuri has very stereotypical Japanese features; messy, short black hair and jet black eyes. However, in the world where Kyou Kara Maou is set, those features are considered the most beautiful and very distinctive to the Mazoku hierarchy; even more so for Yuuri because those are the distinct features of the Maou (King) of demons. Even though he dresses like a normal person in Japan, when he returns, his royal uniform looks exactly like a black boy's school uniform save for the addition of a royal fur collared cape. There's a distinct boyish, naïve expression on his face and the way he carries himself. He isn't overbuilt and he isn't scrawny either, Yuuri is lean and light enough to be quick on his feet.
During times where he deems there to be injustice or he is over emotional, he transforms. His hair grows from being extremely short to shoulder length, his eyes narrow and his shoulders seem to become wider, just for the emphasis on confidence.
Personality: Yuuri is a very idealistic, naïve teenager. At first he takes things without thinking them through, but it's usually done because he has a strong sense of justice. No matter how unfavorable the odds, he will always stick up for those that need help. The sense that his position as Maou gives him so much power that he has to use it for good. He doesn't usually think about the political implications about anything, rather than he own set of morals.
Around Wolfram he's sometimes a little on edge since he's always in Yuuri's personal space. Though as the series progresses, he gets used to waking up to a pink negligee clad Wolfram and being stalked by him. He's a little intimidated by Gwendel, but he trusts his judgment when it comes to battle strategy. He gets bored easily, but he learns quickly, such in the case with Gunther and using the knowledge he was taught and applying it to situations that he is in.
He's extremely optimistic and bright, and it tends to become contagious around him, including his adopted daughter, Greta.
