Gah, I wish I could freaking write something. I am having zero luck. D: I think it's because I can't find anything decent to read and I haven't been listening to super awesome music today. Thursday was a good creative day for me, but today is just not doing it. It sucks.
So here I am, doing a meme I've done like a million times before. This time I saw it on moosewizard's journal.
The rules: List seven songs that you are currently loving. It doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artists, and the songs in your blog. Then tag seven other blogging friends to see what they're listening to.
Hmm, this is always one of those, "What do I pick?" things. I'll just go with some of those songs from my post yesterday and then whatever else comes to mind.
1. "Knights of Cydonia" by Muse - I seriously forgot how freaking awesome this song was until I heard it on Thursday night. I was rocking the fuck out. It was amazing.
2. "Pavlov's Daughter" by Regina Spektor - Wow. Regina. This whole album is probably my favorite album by her (hello, it has "Oedipus" on it), and this song is so strange and she's all about changing things up in it. Yeah.
3. "I'm Living On Baby Food" by Soul Coughing - OMFG. This song is just hilarious. I gotta post the lyrics. I just gotta. (Well, the lyrics are pretty repetitive, so I'll just mention the few lines there are.) You guys ready? It starts out with "The young gun, the long island lolita, the young gun, the long island lolita, the young gun, the long island lolita, the young gun," which is repeated 4 more times, followed by, "Amy! (Amy Fisher!)" also repeated 4 times, then, "Long island teen shot the wife of her alleged former lover," ditto, and the only other line is, "She's a liar! Everything she says is a lie! I'm living on baby food! I'm living on baby food!" SO HILARIOUS. I mean, who can write a song about Amy Fisher? Mike Doughty, that's who.
4. "Siren" by Tori Amos - This song is one of those songs that is just heaven to sing along with. Guh. Love it.
5. "Raspberry Beret" by Prince - I love Prince! What can I say besides that? This is probably my favorite song of his, along with "When Doves Cry."
6. "The King of Carrot Flowers" by Neutral Milk Hotel - I really fell in love with this song when I heard the cover Mike did of it, but it just has some gorgeous lyrics, that are pretty tragic, but are still gorgeous nonetheless.
7. "Weight" by Sarah Slean - What a gorgeous song. This one and "Eliot" I think are my favorites of hers. So good.

And I was finishing this from earlier today, and yeah, I finally got around to cleaning out my music folder & downloaded a TON of new stuff! As in, 3 PJ Harvey albums (b/c I am OBSESSED w/ her right now & that included White Chalk, which I haven't heard anything from, so super excited about that, & I finally found "Rid of Me!" Fuck yeah!), pretty much EVERY Antony & the Johnsons song there is (seriously, I found a list of uploads on multiply & I think he had all the albums, including a bootleg!), Grinderman (oh come on! I saw it and was like, "Damnit, I've been WANTING to hear "No Pussy Blues!" LOL, plus it's Nick Cave), Songs by Regina Spektor (mainly so I can finally hear "Reading Time With Pickle," b/c I've never actually heard it before), and then a couple of random single tracks ("Pavlov's Daughter" by Regina Spektor, some New Pornographers stuff, "Fuck The Pain Away" by Peaches, a random Smiths song and some Wolf Parade). I am SO EXCITED! LOL. I know it's just music and I could have downloaded this stuff at any point, but it was like this huge accomplishment to get that folder cleaned so I had room for this stuff! LOL. I went away from multiply & random LJ download comms I had open so I wouldn't keep downloading b/c believe me, I could keep going! I kept seeing a LOT of stuff I wanted b/c ppl usually upload a bunch of albums at a time, & if they have one thing I want, there are chances they have like 10 things I want. :p So yeah, I have new music, so if anyone wants something, let me know & I'll hook you up. Eee!
