Ugh, I just took a nap that ended up being a lot longer than I planned, and now I don't want to do anything. :p I was ripping a bunch of CDs to my computer, b/c I bought Automatic For The People by R.E.M at work today. Yayness. I also bought 2 Stephen King books (hardcovers! Christine & Bag of Bones, to be specific - I couldn't remember if I already had them, but I figured, fuck, $2 for hardcover, perfect condition Stephen King books?) and 2 random scarves (both green - one a lime green on the outside & dark green in the middle w/ white stripes throughout, and the other a dark olive green with white polka dots & this random lion in one corner, lol - I saw it and was like, "That is so random. I am buying it."). So yay for me buying more stuff I don't need. :p But yeah, my roommate gave me this CD forever ago & I never ripped it to my computer b/c it was a CD someone had burned for her, & I had never heard of the girl before, & there wasn't any info on the album, so yeah. But now I asked her again & she told me, so I am about to rip it to my computer & have a listen. Yay. Her name is Sara Bareilles, and Katie said if I liked Regina Spektor's old stuff, I'd like her. So that sounds promising.
1. So far, for this year, what has been the best movie you've seen?
Oh, Knocked Up, most definitely.
2. Admit it, what are your flaws?
I am a huge fucking procrastinator, I tend to be lazy when I'm not at work, I never get out and do anything, I can be very paranoid & distrusting of people at times. Uh, yeah, I think that's enough. :p
3. If you could sum yourself up in ONE single word, what would that word be and why?
Different. I guess I could say there's no one else like me on the planet, which is a very good thing - I'd hate to think of there being someone just like me out there, b/c I like being unique.
4. If you could have one thing right now instantly happen that you wish for, what would it be and why?
I'd want all my student loans to be paid off & to never have to pay any other bills ever again, either. And that's b/c money is stupid & I'd rather not spend my time worrying a/b something so idiotic.
5. What is the meaning of life?
Wow. Deep question. I think the meaning of life is different for each person. Some people seem to be content just getting a mediocre job & getting married, having a family, living this mundane life. That's not necessarily something I would like. I'd like to think the meaning of my life is to use my gift of writing to enlighten people, and if I've done that, I've accomplished my goal. :)
6. What kind of food is your favorite?
LOL, I like how it goes from the meaning of life to food. :p Mexican, baby! But on a less specific note, any kind of food that really has something extra to it, like spice. I love intense food. Explains my deep love for garlic & onions. OMG.
7. What mythical animal do you wish you could actually see in real life?
Unicorn. Oh yes. Or a mermaid. Would you consider a mermaid an animal? Hmm. I was thinking minotaur, but I think that would be super creepy. Yikes.
8. What person(s) made a difference in your life?
Oh, SO many people. Pretty much anyone I know, really, made or makes a difference in my life. But specifically, the teachers I had who encouraged me to continue writing; my high school band director Mr. Telitz, who instilled a deep love of performing music into me; my college professors, specifically (and yes, I know this sounds weird) Jan (and really, no one said this "difference" had to be good, lol) & Mike for making me realize I hate journalism (lol); my family, of course, who I wouldn't be here without, both literally and figuratively; and of course, my very very very awesome friends, both real life & online - you all mean so much to me.
9. What person(s) made an impact that changed your life for the best? worst? Explain.
Well, that's kinda the same thing as the last question. Um, I guess those same people. Teachers for the best (and for the worst, lol), and people like Tori & Mike for the best, definitely. I don't know.
10. Explain how you keep an online journal that suits YOU.
Well, you guys know my journal. I write about what I want, when I want, and fuck it if people don't read it or don't comment, whatever. This journal is an extension of my personality, and what you see is really what you get. I fangirl, I rant, I giggle maniacally. Whatever. I'm who I am, and that's what this journal is, too.
Um, random note: I've been listening to beginnings of songs on that CD to find out what they are and oh yeah, my roommate fucking knew I'd love this girl. I'm totally uploading this shit for you all. I'm uploading to sendspace b/c box.net is annoying when I'm uploading stuff (if I'm listening to music, it's constantly causing the music to pause, which is annoying). But yes, she's another one of those singers I can see myself being like, "Why the hell don't people know who this is?" like I am with Melissa McClelland.
