I hope you guys can understand my translations. The article seems to be incomplete?

SHINee has been through two and a half years since their debut in May 2008. The band leader cum lead vocalist Onew; lead vocalist Jonghyun; both Key and Minho are the resident rappers; and the best dancer maknae Taemin are maturing and striving beyond. Armed with new challenges, the breath-taking performance and power from their second full album “Lucifer” can be considered to be full of SHINee’s works. How did they come this far and what steps are they striving for in the future? Do you want to understand what their music views are? You can catch a glimpse of their actual thoughts in the following long interview.

Q: Let’s talk about “Lucifer”. Whenever a new single is released, there will be major transformation for everyone. It was a bold transformation for “Lucifer”!

Jonghyun: Our hairstyles were decided after several discussions, the hairstyles were what we ourselves would want to try, we also gave a lot of feedback and opinions on the concept for the album cover and lyrics booklet. The overall outcome is a powerful look for the clothing and hairstyles.

Q: Was everyone on the same page at the beginning to try this challenge?

Jonghyun: Because this is the 2nd album, we want to try all music genres. Even though we tried different music genres in our 1st album but we did not have a specific music genre in this album, instead this album actually showcases each member’s individual music style.

It really includes all music genres. We also spent a very long time recording it. We were thinking and creating it at the same time and also experienced the charms from different music genres.

Q: Everyone must have been working out occasionally; do you guys work out everyday?

Jonghyun: Each of us is in charge of our own workout plan.  There are members whom are more health conscious and members whom emphasized more on toning and muscle training. For me, I will work out before the album’s promotional events begin. I must present myself in tip top condition to everyone.

Q: The members are doing very well in their individual workout plan.

Taemin: For me, I’m more focused on exercises that build up my stamina.

Key: I’m doing muscle training which also feels like dieting at the same time. If I have the time, I will also jog or cycle. The rest of them also work out a lot.

Q: Your single “Lucifer” actually gives one goose bumps when one hears it for the first time. This song has a very unique sound compared to the songs out in the current market today. What are everyone’s thoughts on this song?

Jonghyun: When we first heard it, we felt that it gives off a very electronic vibe. We felt that the Korean lyrics are very strong, very powerful after listening to the complete version, a very vibrant song.

Onew: I agree. One also can’t help but move to the beat of the song.

Key: I immediately fell in love with it after hearing it for the first time. I personally like this music style, the album sales are not bad, very happy (Smiles).

Q: Heard that Jonghyun will always find a singing technique which is suitable for every song. What kind of feeling did you use to sing “Lucifer”?

Jonghyun: Because “Lucifer” is a completely different sound from “Love Like Oxygen” and “Juliette”, so my singing technique was to sing it by elongating the notes. I’m not sure if this is actually suitable for this song but because it was during the summer, I want to showcase a singing technique that won’t let one feel stuffy.

Q: What about Onew?

Onew: I would like everyone to hear that kind of explosive voice and try to add in some impromptu parts because I feel a certain kind of bare feeling so that is my key point.

Q: What is the lyrics’ main theme for “Lucifer”?

Jonghyun: “Lucifer” means fallen angel. Originally an angel turned into a devil, the lyrics depict a woman who is as beautiful as an angel whom instead cause her man to suffer, you can also say it’s a song about a man being toyed around by a lady.

Q: This song can be considered as everyone’s “work of self-confidence”, how long did it take to prepare?

Key: About…… 2 months?

Jonghyun: Almost 2 months, but you can also say the preparation time was longer. We recorded a few songs before promoting “Juliette” but it wasn’t released and the musical style is similar to this album’s musical style.
