Albuterol & breathing treatments...oh my!!!

Jun 01, 2009 12:24

So, Woo started wheezing yesterday morning....this on top of her already having a snotty nose & coughing off & on for the past few weeks. I know that she has sinus issues, but we try not to give her hardly any medicines or herbal stuff.

The wheezing was bothering me, as I am asthmatic. Sp, I took her to the Sunday Clinic for her Peds. group.

She had a breathign treatment, which freaked her right the "f" out at first. Damn is that girl strong! But she finally succomed & the treatment helped instantly!!!

So, she was sent home with Prenisolone (which the doctor & I went round & round about) & an albuterol inhaler with a spacer to use. *sigh*

I sooooooooooooooooo hope that she does NOT end up with asthma.

The doctor said that Saturday night was kind of like "the perfect storm", which triggered the wheezing & the tightness of her chest. We went to an outdoor concert at the Levitt Shell Sat. evening. The weather was great. But seeing as how we were around all of the grass, the many trees, all of the people moving & some people smoking & whoever might have been moving their lawn in the distance, which the wind would have picked up the pollen & carried it our way. Anyhow...you get the picture.

So, she has had 3 breathing treatments at home now & she is doing so well. She is such a big girl.

I am proud of her.

**********Also.....she has started being able to sound out letters!!! She can tell you what most of the letters are based on their sounds!!!! LIke "B" has a "ba" sound, "G" has a "ga" sound, etc.

She astounds me daily.

I hope that you are all well.

-ciao.
