tonight is the last night of tryouts-yay! i hate tryouts - luckily there have only been 4 days of them this year and not like 5 or 6 like last year with 3 days of doubles! no, just 4 days, no double tryouts, just cross country in the morning and have been feeling sort of sick, so i'm going to have to play hardcore tonight, but that's okay, it's only 1.5 hours, so it shouldn't be a biggie. not going to freak out if i don't make elm grove even though i would love to play for that team - they're not cutting anyone who's already on the team, so i might not make it, oh well, then i'll play for sc waukesha and that team will not be real good, but i'll get lots of playing time and it's closer than elm grove (even though i'd love to play for elm grove) both will be U18 premiere (no biggie, that's been what i've been playing in since frosh year). gotta get some workcamp stuff done then work on panama stuff. holy cow!!!!!!!!!! crazy...but i guess i wouldn't have it any other way. watched Saudi Arabia and Tunisia play yesterday on ESPN2 - wow that was an amazing game - Tunis was up 1-0 for most of the game with a beautiful goal by Jaziri, then in the 53rd minute, the Saudis score. then the Saudis score again, then, in the 93rd minute (over because of injury time) Jaidi scores for Tunisia so the game ended up 2-2. that was nuts! the Saudis had scored their first 2 world cup goals since '98 and i guess it was the best they've played ever. they really stepped it up but i would say that Tunisia is a more technically skilled team - it's like ballet and futsal (like soccer, but faster and smaller and MUCH more technical they do some crazy stuff)- not quite Brazilian, but still pretty cool. This means that for group H Spain is in the lead for the first time probably in like 10 years (they're real good whatwith RealMadrid and all those super good clubs over there, but they don't usually do so well at the world cup). Ukraine is at the bottom b/c they lost to Spain, and Tunis and Saudi Arabia are tied for second behind Spain. Great game! Germany won against Poland - must've been a rough game and Ecuador beat Costa Rica. Ecuador's been playing real well so far. The U.S.? well, we lost to the #2 Czechs, no real surprise there, we weren't slated to do real well and unless we really step it up ( and i mean REALLY step it up) against Italy, we might get knocked out. and of course, what would world cup and international soccer be without hooligan fans? apparently there was a "practice fight" in Munchen, but the hooligans got arrested. haha, that would be the equivalent to the Irish playing the English - a great game, to be sure, too bad it won't happen for awhile. but yeah. alright, i'm finished for now!
