Canon Reference: Becomes AU after his marriage to Maria and the birth of their sons

History Section: After too many repeated uses of the Apple, Altaïr noticed that he was no longer aging and it quickly became apparent that the Apple had changed him, turning him immortal. He stayed with his family and in Masyaf for many years before he finally left. For several hundred years he kept an eye on his descendents, and the Brotherhood, although he did not directly interfere.

It was only after news of Ezio and the Templars reached him in England that he began to reintegrate himself into the Brotherhood. He had been protecting the Grail from the Templars and hid the cup before making the journey to Italy. He arrived too late to give assistance, and so moved on to another part of the world, constantly moving through different Assassin keeps so as not to give away his immortality.

Rumors of other Pieces of Eden had him traveling throughout Eurasia and the Americas until the 1900s when he finally began to settle again. He still moved between the different camps that the Assassins had set up, but did not leave except on missions that were given to him. In one of the camps he met a woman he married a few years later, and they had a son named Desmond. Altaïr was sent on another long term mission and was not there when Desmond decided to flee the compound.

Learning of it after his return, Altaïr joined up with one of the teams sent as a distraction to Abstergo in order for Lucy and Desmond to escape. He managed to smuggle a note to Lucy that requested information on Desmond and what the Templars required of him, through this he learns of the Templar’s plans and works to find and secure the Pieces of Eden before the Templars can reach them.

For the past few decades he has been using the alias ‘Altaïr Miles’, although periodically he will change his entire name.

Personality: Over the years that he has been alive, Altaïr has changed. Where before he was inpatient with those who didn’t immediately have the information he needed, now he knows that these things take time and will likely wait for any intel to become available. He is also much less likely to lose his temper with the others, although it does happen.

Many aspects of his personality have solidified. He knows he’s a bit of an ass and difficult for many to get along with, but is not concerned with having everyone like him; the way he sees it is that he’s been this way his entire life, it’s not going to change because of someone not liking him.

After more than 800 years watching over his bloodline he’s become a bit overprotective. He not only has the descendents of himself and Maria, but also descendents from the years spent wandering the Earth. When he is around he allows nothing to endanger his children and will kill if needed. He loves all his children, and does what he can for them all even if they do not know it.

He still has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor and is willing to find humor in any situation, even those where it may be inappropriate. He has a quick wit and a sharp tongue isn’t shy about using either.

Abilities: Altaïr is a master assassin who has been trained since a young age. He is a master of hand-to-hand and extremely skilled with swords, daggers, throwing knives and his hidden blade. He is able to blend in with any crowd and is a master of pick pocketing, eavesdropping, and can follow a target unseen until he strikes.

He is very agile and quick, able to scale any building and jump from rooftop to rooftop and balance of narrow beams. Physically he is quite strong and his endurance and stamina are very high; he is capable of fighting off several guards at once as well as fleeing if the smarter option. His training also includes being able to survive falls from great heights using bales of hay as landing pads.

Altaïr is also capable of using Eagle Vision, which he uses to identify friend, foe, and informant by illuminating them in colors only he can see.

He is also very intuitive, showing several times that he can understand a situation without being fully informed.

Because of how long he has been alive, he is very knowledgeable about many topics. He may not have been in the midst of every change the world went through, but he did hear about them. He’s quite proficient with computers, since he’s been able to watch how they changed, and while he can use a gun quite effectively it’s not his weapon of choice.

Over the years, he’s learned several other languages including French, Spanish, Italian, American English, and Chinese. He still can speak the Arabic he learned in his youth, although he has adapted to modern Arabic as well.

First Person: Lucy,

You are late in reporting on Desmond. I expect the information to be sent with the utmost haste. I am allowing you to continue these experiments for the good of our Order, but do not think that I will allow Desmond to be used with no concern for his safety.

If I do not here from you in the next few hours I will take Desmond from your group. I mentioned before the nightmares and side effects were of concern to me and that I expected the reports on time for the next few months. I am not asking for much, only that you keep your head together and focused on the mission and Desmond’s mental wellbeing. Fraternization can come at a later date. When we are not on the brink of destruction.

Do not trifle with me. You will not like the knowledge of who I really am.

Third Person: Guilt was steadily eating at him. How could he have allowed this to happen? He’d known Desmond was feeling confined, had known he’d started chafing against the rules of the ‘Farm’; so why did he allow himself to be sent away? It should have been a logical conclusion that Desmond would manage to escape. He’d taught the boy to blend himself, and he’d gotten good at it. Pride momentarily welled up as he thought of the times Desmond had simply disappeared when his mother had tried to discipline him.

Guilt quickly turned to fury. He was older then all of them, knew more about the fight against the Templars, had experienced more than the entire camp; so why was he following orders when his child was in danger? Fuck that. He’d lead the rescue to get Desmond away from the Templars. There was no way he’d allow that cocksucker Vidic to lay another had on his son and anyone who tried to interfere would realize why he was the youngest Master Assassin ever.

It took almost no effort to sneak into the tent of the Assassin running the rescue mission and doctor the documents to have them say what he wanted. He was now lead on the distraction unit and had the authority to run his unit the way he saw fit.

A footnote in the file caught his attention. Another high ranking Assassin was in Abstergo, this one as an undercover agent. A quick read through of her file showed they were planning to have her lead Desmond out and keep the boy hidden. He approved. The girl’s file showed her to be a capable team leader. It took moments to send an encrypted file to her email, telling her in no uncertain terms that he expected updates on his son periodically or there would be hell to pay.

Good. With that done his only concern was getting his hardheaded youngest out of Templar hands.
