Meme while hanging with the puppies!
So, I'm watching my friends' house/dogs for the weekend while they're away at her father's funeral. I'm hanging out and using her internet, and trying to avoid the homework that's awaiting me at home. I figured I'd stay at the house for a little while at least and let the dogs be out for a while before crating them up and saying goodnight. So, besides taking them for a walk to the dog park for about an hour and a half, I'm doing this. :)
1. Can you remember/ were you told what the first book read to you was? If you have kids, what’s the first book you read to them?
Um, one of the first books read to me (that I can remember) was Aesop's Fables. I'm sure there were others, but that one I remember really well.
2. What book - in your wishlist, to-be-read pile or the vague list you keep in your head - are you most looking forward to reading? What appeals to you about it?
Um, there's quite a few, but I'm thinking right now my most exciting one is going to have to be Carpe Demon which is by someone I can't remember right now. It looks like a sort of Buffy AU. It's about this woman who used to be a demon hunter, and is now a mom with 2 kids and a husband, none of which know anything about her demon-fighting days. Suddenly, there's a new demon on the loose, and she has to try to fight this thing while hiding it all from her family. Looks like a fun read. :)
3. What’s on the nearest bookshelf to your desk (list titles or generalize, if you like)?
Um, some favorites. Harry Potter series, a complete collection of Shakespeare, and some general young adult books that I really enjoyed.
4) What’s on the nearest bookshelf to your bed?
Same as above. The desk and the bed are on opposite sides of the bookshelf. lol!
5) What’s on the nearest bookshelf to your favourite armchair/sofa?
...everything else. There's 2 shelves, and they're the only ones near the chair.
6) You send a book as a belated Valentine’s gift to a crush, what’s the book?
Um, not quite sure. Depends on the guy, but probably P&P&Z.
7) In the spirit of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, what classic would you rework, and in what genre?
I would want to see probably Peter Pan done over with zombies. I think that would be hilarious if done correctly.
8) Do you only go book shopping when you have a specific book in mind, or are you just as likely to go and browse?
I love the browsing, but it's super dangerous, since I end up leaving with way too little money left in my wallet.
9) What book blog/ author website is your favourite for book-related news or author chatter?
Um, I really rely on Tamora Pierce's LJ and Facebook for up-to-date news. I also check out what my friends link to all the time to other authors.
10) Is there an author from whom you would like/ are desperately waiting for another book?
I'm desperately awaiting any books from Tammy Pierce, the delicious Richard Castle (yeah, yeah, fake author with real book. Love anyway), and Charlaine Harris. :D
