Unpacking is funny! I found a list of the songs on a mix tape I made for my very first official boyfriend in 1983 -- it's dated June 25, 1983. What's odd is that it's clearly something I wrote in later years -- it's written with a thin Sharpie marker and the notebook paper is perforated, neither of which existed in 1983. Anyhow, here's my playlist for my first boyfriend's mix tape from the summer of 1983:

01. Wishing - Flock of Seagulls
02. Is There Something I Should Know? - Duran Duran
03. Always Something There To Remind Me - Naked Eyes
04. Faithfully - Journey
05. Let's Dance - David Bowie
06. Too Shy - Kajagoogoo
07. Every Breath You Take - The Police
08. Don't Pay the Ferryman - Chris DeBurgh
09. Saved By Zero - The Fixx
10. Puttin' On the Ritz - Taco
11. Rock This Town - Stray Cats
12. Our House - Madness
13. New Year's Day - U2
14. Love My Way - Psychedelic Furs

Wow, that was 30 years ago. I ended up not being very good to him, not because I didn't like him, but rather because I was too immature to have a boyfriend to begin with and I simply didn't know how to tell him straightforwardly that all I really wanted to do was hold hands and that was it. He talked incessantly about kissing me, to the point that my anxiety over the prospect of being kissed far superseded any enjoyment a kiss might have brought. He was truly a nice, nice guy, with big brown eyes and messy black hair, and he liked French and he played the trumpet. He was a junior when I was a freshman ... I just wasn't ready to handle boys or relationships. Oh, nostalgia ♥
