|| GOODBYE HOUSE ||

Days on the market: 2. Price: Full asking price. Contingencies: A few, but nothing major.

So we close on our house today. I'm so sad. I don't want to let it go, but I have to and I'm trying to be a big girl about it. VERY IMAGE HEAVY:

Goodbye, house ...

DH is actually going to take care of it on both our behalves -- he has power of attorney for me (as I do for him) and because of my recent surgery and uber slow recovery, I felt it was best that he sign the paperwork. It's hard for me to sit in one position for a long time, and anyone who's ever bought or sold a house knows what a horrific amount of paperwork comes along with the sale. I'm just not with it right now -- I'm sore, I'm groggy from pain meds, I'm supposed to avoid the car (Ha, yeah right. There's no one else to drive me places right now, even doctor appointments.). So, yeah, power of attorney ftw -- apparently the buyer is doing something similar as he's currently in Spain with the Circe de Soleil. Found out he is an electrician with the Circe, not a dancer as originally relayed to us. Well, it's a good thing he's an electrician because that house needs to be completely rewired.

It heartens me a bit that the buyer seems to really love the house and was eager enough to own it that he offered full price -- that never happens, except in California ;) I'm truly grateful for this because we almost priced it $40K lower than what we ultimately did. I had a kick-ass realtor, Alice, who was savvy, did her homework, worked the comps, and priced it according to the sale prices of similar properties in the neighborhood. Anyway, all that is really aside.

GOODBYE, HOUSE ♥

house: moving, goodbye house
