Author's Notes: Just a reminder because she's such a minor character: Charity Burbage was the Muggle Studies professor murdered by Voldemort in DH.
It takes weeks for Nagini to digest Charity Burbage enough that Draco's gorge stops rising when she slithers by, weeks until the professor's shape can no longer be seen under the snake's skin.
Draco knows this is why he thinks about Burbage so often. He tells himself there is no other reason why her terrified face should come to him at those moments when he looks down and sees his own hands shaking, or why, in the Dark Lord's presence, he should think of her floating form and silent tears. After all, it's not like they had anything in common.
